<div class="IPBDescription">something wrong with onos</div> hey guys, i am making a map and, well there is a problem

when you go onos <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif'><!--endemo--> (just had to use that <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> ), you are placed about 2 - 4 units in the ground and you are stuck...

i really dont know whats wrong, i have tryed to make the rooms bigger and make the floors thicker, but it doesn't do anything, the only way to safely onos is to be on a building.

i just started mapping for ns about a week ago, but i have been mapping for well over a year

EDIT : you are placed there after you pop out of the egg <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Are you using the custom NS hulls file when you compile the map?

What compile tools are you using? Also, you should probably use an external batch compiler (like <a href='http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Nemesis/index.php?p=2' target='_blank'>this</a> one) instead of the Hammer compiler thing. Then you can just point-and-click to load a hullfile.

you know i think i MIGHT be using the original, i had it all perfect with the better compile tools, and then my comp crashed so i had to reinstall so maybe not <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Using the original HL compile tools to make an NS map is like having a leper give you a facial... it doesn't really work.

To get the batch compiler working, select "Bare Zoners" from the Configuration menu, go to the Options menu and click Setup, go to the Paths tab, fill in the paths, and you should be set. The "CSG" tab has a box where you can select the hullfile using an ordinary file dialog.

Still confused? Check the info on the page you downloaded the batch compiler from. It's pretty easy to use.

ok thanks, so that SHOULD fix my map now?
  • EriasErias Join Date: 2003-08-17 Member: 19878Members
If you've got the hullfile in there, and it compiles, it should.
  • GoDGoD Join Date: 2003-06-06 Member: 17064Members
alright, ill tell you if it does / doesn't

    No problem.

I'd still try using the batch compiler to compile, compiles are faster and easier and shat.
