<div class="IPBDescription">And the full "black smoke" scene :)</div>I mapped on a bit and finished the scene with that black smoke "problem" well you shouldn't get to close to the smoke since it'll drop your framerate... but trust me you don't even want to get close there it's pretty hot <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

    yes but I intended to put fire there since the first second I thought about smoke <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> but I didn't find a animated fire texture that fits there...

    btw the actual version is up for download now...

    EDIT:  I just looked though the bsp and the only problem I can see is the blue lighting.  While that's not bad in itself - I love the colour, it's very atmospheric - it's used throughout the map (so far) and I just think it would look better if it were broken up a little.  I would suggest the use of spotlights ( a bright colour, peferably white) and red or orange striplights here or there.  You've already done that in the section near the fire, and that looks really good.

    looking pretty good...  i wish that shot of the fire was a little closer so i could see the details of it.

    i like the little pad you have going there for the resource nozzle

    anyways yeah the lighting... the problem is I'm not so good at using spotlights, that's why I use mainly texlights

    ok here comes the review of the map.
    good things, it has a lot of cool things, nice ideas and its well done, also it has a lot of custom sounds sprites and skies <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
    now bad stuff...
    there are some empty areas and areas that dont have anything... so they wont get used and will only be there to.... just sit and talk <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

    now im goin to give u some criticism:
    on this shot the place looks really empty
    u could add some columns, and cables hanging from the roof, some doors that are closed and u cant open, i dont know at what point of the ship u are.... but if u are on one of the sides u could add some windows....

    now, this shot shows this unused corridor that leads nowhere.......
    u took out the vent that was there (red circle) so that left this corridor completely unused unless u wanna turret camp <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo--> so i suggest u to put back the vent that started here and leaded u there (pic on the next post) or just add some detail or a closed door so it looks a bit more real.....

    now i wanna add 2 more things:
    1-on the hive, add sound..... a hive place isnt quiet ad a klaxon or the hive mp3 that sounded like if u where squeezin a bob <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->..... also, if u could make the infested doors open up a bit more slowly (coz of the infestation on them) it would look cool.......
    2- the fire thingie..... it looks good but if u get the fire and the smoke off u would save r_speeds, also its a pain in the ### for the commander, coz u gotta watch the resource node at the next room and the smoke makes ur fps drop a lot........

    ok thats all nice map keep the good work man im lookin forward for this.......

    edit: oh i almost forgot... the monitors on the resource node look absolutely awesome <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> i loved them

    1.) that empty area, yeah sure I will add something there that's one part of the map that's not finished and will lead to the rear part of the ship these rooms are still to come.

    2.) I just had to remove the vent since it made problems with the commander view, I tried to solve it with excessive use of func_seethroughs and func_illusionary and filler brushes but it just was not possible (for me) so I removed it for now... but I have plans about putting alien tunnels beneath the ground so they do not interrupt the commander view.

    3.) the fire, yeah I know I know it slows down the framerate <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> but... as I said in the chat, I love it <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> I wanted to do it there since I mapped that softly risen door and put steam there I just wanted to... nothing could have stopped me <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> but as you said to me already I could move the resource node a bit away from the fire though

    hey infi, someone spotted a bug on the map..... if u build a turret on the elev, it makes the elev stuck...... so place a nobuild entity on it......

    hmmm, id take the black smoke out and just have the flames, its probably the smoke that is the problem because you have used a render mode that isnt properly implemented yet.

    The USS Ayan, a new explorer, was sent with a minimal crew into a nearby asteroid field to scan the asteroids for resources to exploit. The ship was controlled by the autopilot while the crew was in cryo-sleep but the asteroid-tracking had a malfunction and an asteroid crashed the USS Ayan, big enough to destroy a whole section of the front. The ship stopped, the main engine was still intact so the only thing to be done was to restart the computer and get the ship out to a repair dock of the Palladium Station. They tried to contact the crew as the ship's mainframe sent an emergency message, but without success. Two days later a rescue ship made it's way to the USS Ayan floating between asteroids without any sign of life on board, the ship was very valuable to the TSA. As the rescue ship arrived at the damaged ship they've gone on board with their standard equipment for eventual incidents. Shortly after they entered the ship they noticed that the asteroid crashing with the ship has brought something on board...
