<div class="IPBDescription">Black out</div>There are so little lights in NS. I wish u would put alot of lights in the marines base and lite it up alot more cause from the screen shots, I would probable kill all my Team mates by accident than the aliens. <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://66.78.33.98/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->  <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://66.78.33.98/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->   <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://66.78.33.98/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->  <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://66.78.33.98/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->  <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://66.78.33.98/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

    The maps should be semi-dark, the aliens need a place to hide. You don't want them "horror movie" dark, but you don't want "light at end of tunnel" bright either.

    Working out lighting from screenshots can be a bit tricky anyway, contrast is easy to see, but actually working out how bright part of a map is going to be is more difficult.

    And there's the env_gamma entity that makes light brighter among other things. This doesn't show up in screenshots though. So in-game things will be a lot brighter.

    IF you post up some shots that end up too dark due to env_gamma settings, I will make an effort to run them through Photoshop and duplicate the ingame effect. FI you have PS, you can use the 'Image | Levels | Adjust levels' function to make a jpeg more closely match reality.

    I just got a scary thought, what if a marine put up the gamma or contrast SOOOOOOO high that he could see in the dark (no darkness because so light) <!--emo&:0--><img src="http://66.78.33.98/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'><!--endemo-->  <!--emo&:0--><img src="http://66.78.33.98/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'><!--endemo-->  <!--emo&:0--><img src="http://66.78.33.98/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'><!--endemo-->

    Well it will look like #### but they get to play better

    They don't want aliens to be like gloom light maps with a feal of darkness so bumping up brightness will help only abit on some maps but not all of them

    Gloom had a problem with that, people would disable all shadows and be godlike in a fight, the coder fixed it by restarting the video every time you mess with the shadow variable, and restarting the video every time you join a server...if your modulate is not 2.0, you get kicked and banned...just a hint to the developers here...I don't like the vid_restarts, maybe you can find a way around those, but if it's the only way in Quake 2 to get a good game without modulate hax, I'm all for it
