The Differance One Sound Makes

*clunk* *clunk* *clunk*
Since playing 2.0, one thing has struck me that has remained true. With the new HA walking sound, you just sound so much more hardcore. You feel like you can take on anything, that you are a slow moving engine of destruction. Now 2.0 didn't change how HA worked in any way at all: you're still just as tough as you were in 1.04. But darnit that one sound just gives you so much extra confindence! Give marines HA these days and they think they can achieve anything. All it needed was one little sound. And what a sound it is

Don't minimize the game.

Well, truely, the sound of your own steps on the steel corridor grounds makes you feel like you have cold fire running in your veins and makes you feel as cool and confortable as your armor is thick and almost-unbreakable
But still, you now are able to warn every aliens nearby that you are coming even before they may see you. And I mean, from very very far away
So far away that those said aliens may have the time to evolve to Onos before you reach them, and they may even have extra few seconds to spare in order to consider wich sauce will be more appropriated with their incoming Heavy Meal Menu
...
LOL!
I always LMAO when I read the sig of this other guy (forgot the nick) saying "You just got Happy Mealed!" but the Heavy Meal is also a good one
I just can't stop imagining right now a Mc Kharaa FastFood and a Onos saying:
"Hello Fattie! I would like the new lvl3 Heavy Meal Menu, along with Vanilla Flavour please! Oh! and don't hesitate on the Cannon Fodder..."
Oddly though, in many instances I couldnt hear the HA footsteps, and I hadn't done anything to mess with the game, like minimize the window.

Something about the new sounds don't work for me. Just not realistic sounding I guess.
use shift for duck
less strain if you duck a lot
besides, in HL you don't need such hardcore duck pwnage that you will mess up your movement by changing the keybind, even if shift is right next to ctrl

*bangs head against desk*
The HA sounds sometimes don't play. It's a know bug. That's what I was referring to.
*cough*
Look down and see for yourself next time you're in front of your computer typing. OMG.

hmm..
Than theoretically, if the ha sound was turned into a soft squishing noise... and you made it so the more light marines were together the more they sounded like an engine of destruction, that would encourage early game teamplay
ok, I guess I can dream @_@
Press Esc, then click on Resume Game.
There you go, your sound is back.
