Ns Crashes, Sometimes Restarts Comp

i don't know what the hell is going on but everytime i play ns it crashes to desktop sometimes restating the comp too. It show an error msg saying "Counter Strike Launcher has encoutered a problem and needs to close" or something along the lines like that.

It doesn't happen when i play CS just NS.

Have you ever had ns load successfully? And by that I mean, have you ever played the game?

i think so. Well ns is stored in the cs folder cause i play ns through cs.
It was ok for the first week or so after installing ns2 then it just went berserk and crashes whenever it wants to when i play ns that is. i've formatted my comp and turned off my soundcard to see if that was the prob but it still happens. i've tried playing through server query instead of COGS but it still happens.

delete the ns directory, reinstall to c:\sierra\counter-strike\ns
