ns_1337shipthing, my first attempt at a map, kind of a total failure if you think of it, i went for an ns_siege005-like map, but again, it failed, basically theres a poorly made ship that marines start in, and a res inside of it, and 4 res outside of it, then a func_weldable to open the door to the middle area containing 6 res (maybe 8, been so long since i played it i dont remember), at which point you may build the res, turret farm etc. the only thing is, you have to wait for aliens to break their box which opens the door to their side, THEN you can all fight and kill each other and what-not.
ns_lavapit, idea originally suggested <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=44378' target='_blank'>in this thread</a>, i took the idea, modified it a bit, and here it is, later i'll make another map that barely modifies the idea period, i've already visualized the whole map, all thats left is making it... its wierd though, i like making maps, but its just so damn boring and i stop for a while, then 2 months later i start...
this is in the readme, but i can't stress it enough...

it should be the top of the 'newest downloads', if not you'll just have to search a bit, since i cant link directly to the file itself cause it doesnt like right clicking (? 2003 thehivemind or whatever pops up)
update: after the original ns_lavapit was done, i decided to make a 2nd one, ns_lavapit2, basically the same gameplay only it takes Nazul's idea to utmost detail, where the whole map is marines trying to walk accross an 8-unit pole (dont worry, it doesnt reach the HL engine map size limit) where aliens parasite/spit/spike/spore/acid rocket them off (i'll make it far enough away so xeno doesnt push them off), got the basic layout for most stuff done, except for the hive room(s), still deciding how many rooms to put, and what should be at the end, a button, a weldable, breakable etc. probably gonna end up being a weldable that takes a little while (2-4 mins maybe) while aliens have to stop them, might even make it 10 since they'll only have parasites to kill them with at the start, i'll also make it so only aliens can see through the sides, that way marines cant fire back very easily

edit: k... recompiling with the fixed stuff... i'll see if i can compress the .zip file so its under the limit so i can attach it, but dont expect anything
edit: sorry about the crappy quality and the UNREGISTERED in the corner lol, i just grabbed the first converter i could, but its clear enough so you can see whats what
note: i took 4% of my time on the architecture so dont complain it sucks
EDIT: If you need to know how to make a minimap, it's really easy. Just go into your map through the console. "map ns_lavapit" then hit enter. Drop down the console and type sv_cheats 1. Next type, ****, I think it's "build minimap" but it may be "minimap". Me st00pid. Sorry I can't remember exactly. Then a sprite will be placed in Half-Life/ns/sprites called like ns_lavapit or something. I shouldn't be giving advice on things I don't really know I guess. Well, anyway you'll get it.
