about comming
What's the BEST way to quickly deliver those meds and ammo to your marines?
These so called hotkeys only bring up submenus, I still have to click separately for each med and ammopack, whereas I've seen some comms to quickly drop a set of ammo/med making less time wasted on that task.

could this be exploitable?
Say you get a marine on top of a hive, and give him a welder or just use his knife. It'll take a skulk some time to get up to him, and then you can just WSWSWSWSWSWSWSWS over his head continuously. Even a skulk doesn't get 50 health off any marine in one second. It will take 2 bites (unless you get head, which would be hard here,) to kill; in that time you have dispensed about 1-2 health packs totalling 100/150 health.
Killing a hive with a knife takes 1.5 mins. (1 min 30 seconds,) with no weapon upgrades. At a rate of 1 health packs a second, that's 90 health packs. They cost 2 res, so that's 180 res. Hmm. Not much of an exploit.
However presuming that you can tell when the marine NEEDS the health, and only deliver health THEN, then it will cost FAR less.
And if you can do that you deserve to kill the effing hive!

I think I'm looking at this in too much detail. Just kill the thing with HMGS...
Which take 30 seconds to run out of ammo and then only take of approx 2/3 of hive health...

HMGs, even with lvl3 upgrades, take almost 4 clips to kill a hive. The best bet is shotguns, which take 29-38 shells, have 3-4 people attacking the hive. If one marine is going at it on his own, he won't make it against skulks because the bite will push him away from the medspam - unless he is really lucky.
But I do agree, HMGs are not for hives.
My point about knifes was that if you actually got a marine on top of the hive you should be able to kill it before two skulks arrive, or find out how to climb the ceiling and drop onto the hive.
One skulk would not be enough with the health spam, two skulks would almost certainly (as you say,) kill the marine.
Good point. However, when the marine is on a hive right next to the ceiling (say, Furnace hive in ns_orrigin? ns_veil? one of the two. I know the new maps but not names. ) then he probably would not fall off.
Still, it is yet another reason why killing hives should be done the traditional way.
