Skulks In 1.04 Compared To 2.0

<div class="IPBDescription">Weaker or same?</div> I was under the assumption skulks in 1.04 are about the same in 2.0.You know 10 bullets in 1.04,11 in 2.0.

No cara of course.

But then someone said something that got me thinking.Skulks had 5 more hp and 10 more armor than in 1.04,supposedly,as i didnt really play aliens much.Now this would of course translate to more damage needed to kill a skulk in 2.0.

Is this true?

    Yes, you need more bullets in 2.0 to kill a skulk, compared to the 1.04 tissue paper skulk.

    Skulks take fewer bullets to die with level 3 cara in 2.0 tho.

    I find that late game skulks are pretty useless in 2.0. Where-as they were still quite effective late game in 1.04.

    The way that damage is applied in 2.0 is slightly different, to take into account issues with damage "rounding".

    skulks are amazing to take out mines in a marine base (if they think mines wont do dmg to both sides >:D so ur onos and fades can get in and out of thier spawn safer. when im a skulk with mabye 98 res, b4 if i want to go onos ill scan thier base, find a mine wait for a marine to run past it, run into it as he runing pasty and, volia boohoomm by by rine and skulk

    They changed the way armour worked for aliens so that a higher amount of armour was needed for the same effectiveness. Hence 75/20 only taking one more LMG round than the old 70/10 in 1.04

    I tend to agree with that... unless you have 3 hives and Xenocide. A well timed one can not only kill LA marines right off the bat, but also damage a good amount of structures as well - making them have to respawn and THEN weld a whole bunch of stuff. If you just get 2 skulks to xeno-siege at the end of the game, you'll win a hella lot faster. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    It wasn't just hitpoints that were changed. The LMG obstructs less of a marine's field of view, making it easier to aim. However, I believe skulk speed was increased slightly. In addition, the skulk's bite animation is faster (less view-obstructing), and marines can no longer bunnyhop to gain speed.

    If I am not mistaken the bite and slash range for fade and skulks were also reduced making them less effective.
