I see my idea of takin' out barrels guard has no acception <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Oh welll... No problem....
If i can say something - (wondering will it be consider) you can add some holes behind barrel
for cooling the gun, under front sights, and make it "seperate" part (i don't know how to tell it more clearer :[ )
(something like Drogunov SVD sniper rifle has - you know what i mean ?)
CAn't wait for relaese <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Also, when I look on <i>my</i> HUD, I see a crosshair...and I'm always shooting my weapon from the hip, apparently. So I'm obviously not <i>using</i> those sights - I mean, when do you ever actually look through them? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
The idea seems to be that our combat fatigues are wired up and broadcasting this aiming data onto our visor, where the HUD is (alternate explanation is that it's a nano-doodad projecting it onto our inner eye - but the helmet seems to be built for the visor explanation). So, technically, we could have guns without sights at all and still use them just fine.
...of course, it's not like the HUD is yanking this info out of thin air. I'm sure there's a little camera or something on the guns themselves to get the data on where the hell the gun is pointing anyway. So we're still aiming - just not with our regular sights. And eerily enough, we hold our guns dead-center all the time...must be all that crazy training <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
I could just yank the sights off my gun completely and but something else up there - maybe a party clown. Or a useless, unusable scope (that everyone seems to be infatuated with... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> )
but to each his own
Superconductors, baby... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
OICW sucks - looks awfully, it is the most ugliest weapon ever , of course IMO !
Your gun looks like AK of future : heavy and dependable ! But is cute <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> not like Kalasnikov <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
(i don't know how this name is called by english ppl).
Add some more detail on sides of weapon, a bit more surfeces ....so it won't be "flat".
That's all - rest is perfect !!!
Only i can tell u truth and guide u through this hard trip <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
BTW SilentKnight - will this gun be colt cocked after new clip loaded? (Of course when the last bullet from previous clip was shot).
Hell.....i really would like to see Galil in NS ...
SilentKnight give status updates asap ! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo-->

very nice work on that one
love how you listened to my suggestions, too!
lookin shexeh.
It looks like it might work as a shotgun replacement too, y'know, a clip of 12 gauge ammo, like a saiga.... and mabye a knife too <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Really coool. somebody help him skin it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I deleted and re-did several key portions of the model to make them look and work better. This tossed on quite a few tri's, but it doesnt mattah! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Sorry for the late update guys, I've been lacking free time lately <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Come on, someone say something about my hard work <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Um...I did?
The first post on this thread contains the picture. I just edit and change it whenever I add something new.
Please get some skinns on it and release <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
It doesnt necessarily need a safety. Some guns are simply made without a safety, and considering that this gun is used in an environment where you're spewing 50 rounds at anything that moves...you dont really need a safety. There's nothing really 'safe' about NS.
"2.)ejector"
Um...well, for one thing, it's caseless. So it doesnt eject cases. And even so, the ejection port would be on the other side where you cant see it. No well-made firearm is going to be ejecting shells across your line of sight and into your face. (But this doesnt eject cases, so even that doesnt matter <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> )
"3.) smooth bits"
Nah. Not my style, really. I like my guns to look imposing and rugged, not smooth and shiny.
"4.) ask nthngsd if u can use the bayonette cfg and then make a knife model for those pointy end bits."
No thanks. Unlike nearly everyone else, I'm not very happy with the idea of putting useless widgets onto my models like laser sights, scopes, and bayonets. And for the last time, those are barrel guards, not anything you'd want to poke someone with. I mean, jeez, they barely protrude. How are you gonna stab someone with that? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Even weapons that fire caseless ammunition still need some sort of ejector to clear the weapon in the event of a jam or misfire.
At any rate, as I said before in IRC, great model. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
