Error About .dll

today i downloaded ns and fusion assault.

unfortunalety ns doesn´t run. i cannot login, it brings me always the same error:

-what does that mean?

--does it has to do with installing fusion assault??

---at the moment i see only the option to find servers over gamespy...are there more???

---with downloading ns, did i recieve the main maps? where can i download more???

You don't have 2.0 installed.
Or fusion assult was playing around with ns
Reinstall 2.0
Make sure you aren't trying to play on a secure server...

The guys posting above are right, so..this is what you do:

Uninstall NS, upgrade half-life to 1.1.1.0, (look for it on fileplanet.com)
Reinstall NS 2.0, be sure to download the client files, not server files or anything else.

It'll work then.

I'm getting this error as well. I finally was able to download NS 2.0 using getright (as Monsieur Evil suggested in a webbed sticky, previously the download froze at 99%, and installation would freeze at ns_wall.pid? I think), anyways, at first I was unable to connect to servers. I asked some folks in Gamespy, they said to reinstall 2.0.

Having just downloaded it for the first time, I was a bit frustrated. I proceed to uninstall NS 2.0, redownload and install from a different site. I play 4 or 5 hours no problem, then I leave the game I'm playing in (disliked the map) to look for another server, and BAM! The problem comes back. Exact same message on every server I connect to, and after I get that message, the next few connection attempts claim my CD key is in use.

I have HL 1.1.1.0, NS 2.0. 1.5 gigahertz P4, Nvidia Geforce 2, 356 MB of RAM (IIFC), and Windows ME.

Just wanted to draw this to people's attention... reinstalling after every round is gonna get real old real quick.

If your cldll.dll differs, it's one of 2 things
1) You need to reinstall 2.0 or
2) The server isn't running 2.0

If your halflife wasn't updated, you'd have a different error message telling you to upgrade.
Once you are positive you are running 1.1.1.0, try again. If you get the same error, reinstall ns 2.0 without the fusion pack.

Maelkin: your cd key in use error probably has different origins than the cldll.dll error. Make a new topic stating your problem and we'll be quick to help.

The CD key in use thing isn't that big of a deal as it goes away after several reconnection attempts (that I've found so far), but the .dll thing is getting really annoying.

Like I said, I just got NS 2.0 today, and I've played for 3 hours total. I've had to reinstall NS 2.0 3 times now. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'>

1) ok, now i reinstalled ns 2.0, but it´s the same thing.

2) i tried every server i could see at gamespy, nothing works.

bad for me, i don´t know if i had updated half-life to 1.1.1.0.
even worse, now if i want to look in the console for my version...there is no more console-key in FUSION ASSAULT, aaargh. in cs it was the one left of "1". how can i check my version otherwise?

so i think it´s not a upgrading problem.
is it possible that FUSSION ASSAULT is making me this trouble?
should i deintsall it? i don´t even like it so much...
somewhere i read that if Fusion Assault is beeing deinstalled, complete Counter-Strike must be reinstalled, is that true??
and: is it really ineffectual that i have the RETAIL Half-Life and Counter-Strike???

well i have no idea what fusion assault is, but for your problem:
Try to create a LAN game and tell us if it works.

When you want to browse for servers, you can use a lot of other programs like <a href='http://www.hlsw.org' target='_blank'>HLSW</a> or <a href='http://www.udpsoft.com/eye/' target='_blank'>all seeing eye</a>.

i thought of this yet.
but i see no way to start ns direct.
if i go over the startbutton of my win xp, then in the programm menues, theres only: <b>Natural Selction Dedicated Server</b>
If i click, there appears some windows xp searching stuff, telling me: <i>hlds.exe is searched</i>

i think more and more, it has to do with fusion assault.

Run HL, look at the bottom right, there should be the version number (i have "v46/1.1.1.0") or run program SierraUp.exe located in your HL folder.

Run standard Half-Life, then in menu click "Custom Game", click "Natural Selection 2.0" and "Activate", then start LAN game from multiplayer menu.

fusion assault is a more realism mod for counter strike. new weapons, maps are different colored, new (worse!) sounds. go to:<a href='http://www.games-fusion.net' target='_blank'>Fusion</a> or
