Lately as a rine, ive been doing something that seems to help kill onos...i distract. how? well...i shoot at an onos...(w/ rines behind me...say...at base), and when my clip is empty...and its goin in for the devour, i hit a button i bound as "kill"....3 secs later...i die. but in that 3 secs, the onos is preoccupied with using stomp/devour, AND...if ur eatin during that 3 secs, u die, w/o the Onos gettin res for it....AND (lol), u come to life much quicker than if u had been devoured...AND...finally...the onos doesnt get healing from my body.
The only downside ive seen from this...is that when the onos eat someone, they become slower....and if im not in there, then the onos is at normal speed.
other than that though, those 3+ secs have helped the rines ive played with kill many onos. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

That aside, drawing an onos attention to allow your teammates a chance to shoot it down is a good idea. Try to get in a spot that is hard to devour from (on a railing, maybe you can jump back before he stomps you etc, instead of this kill thing.
Also I find it odd that more onos dont just gore stomped players since you can three of em if they are close together.
Exploit...bah! its called tryin to counter the obviously OVERPOWERED Regen Onos....may as well think up something...cuz the NS team aint gonna do jack about it

If they friggin ban me for something like that...ill change my IP, find a server crash hack...and annoy the living CRAP outta them <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> weeeeeeeeee

Onos go for the devour...cuz there cocky...and think there all badass....
Why? That would just make aliens stronger...er...even more. This is not an exploit...its a strat...and u people know good an well thats wut it is
IMO: Anyone who kills/readyrooms/retries (via whatever known or unknown exploit) while being devoured should be banned for about 60 seconds. It's not a serious abuse, but hey, let's make it more expensive than to sit it out. The folks that can't wait to be devoured are the same ones that won't follow orders to defend an outpost because it's too boring.
[edit] Well, yeah. Shotties are dangerous. But shotties are tasty too. I'm finding a combination of LMG's and shotties works best: the LMG's pull the onos down a bit before it arrives, and the shotty opens up at point blank to finish the job. [/edit]
The kill timer was put in specifically so that the rfk system and devour would not be abused like this. Finding a hole in it is an exploit. It's not supposed to be there, and it's doing the exact opposite of what is intended.
Even if it weren't, /kill abuse is poor sportsmanship.
It's hardly overpowered, just you need to realize that when an onos retreats from base, it's going to heal. That means it's near death. Don't sit in base, and hump your armory for a little bit until it comes back with full health, RUN AFTER IT. Onos are not invincible. It only takes 72 level 0 lmg bullets to kill an uncarapaced onos. Imagine how easy it would be to kill an onos that not only has it's back turned to you, but around 200 HP (at least that's my "retreat" hp as onos), and little-to-no armor left, and ALSO it doesn't have it's mind set on killing, it has it's mind set on getting to a safe place to heal before it loses it's 100 resource investment. You're talking like a big fat lerk or gorge to kill here.
THE ASH HAS SPOKEN *flex*
Uhhh...yeah...assuming u can hit there tiny litle hitbox....also, it takes about twice that they have regen
Ur guys' arguments were good...but...still, im right, and u people know it. Its not an exploit...its taking one for the team....or something like that <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Calm down kiddy..its not my fault u didnt come up with this strat b4 i did <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
agreed, only, let me kill you. slowly. painfully
Its lame. more lame than an old granny with both legs broken
The /kill is an expliot = its using a "feature" in a way it wasnt supposed to be used.
What's sad is maybe your attitude will badly affect new players or kids, and thus, even if you were just doing us a joke, then it was a really poor one.
People around here are trying to raise the interest of the game, encourage better teamplay, while you on the other hand...
/me just leave, there's no point talking with you.
