That kind of bs just makes me mad. We've given so much damned money in aid to other countries that its ridiclous to think that they can't pull themselves up just a little bit more. They keep wanting a free ride. I'm also paying for my food here at college, as well drinks etc etc.
Now please, you shouldn't have said anything if you didn't want to hijack the thread, so just leave it be, this isn't the place to discuss it, nor the forum, we have the discussion board.

e/ -then I read the rest of the thread and find people have said what I’ve already said. I tend to agree with dread. Xzilen.. that was the most ignorant crap I’ve ever read. I'm disappointed when I read things like that.

Uh not really. this is THE worst attack of terrorism in many, many, MANY years. Seriously, LEAVE THE THREAD ALONE IF YOU DON"T WISH TO PUT SOMETHING NICE INTO IT. I couldn't give a damn about what you think about the rest of the world, this is about NINE ELEVEN, not about Africa, not about 3rd world countries, just take your thoughts ELSEWHERE.
For crying out loud, this was not a call to hear you bleeding hearts worry about the rest of the world. God knows, we offer our sympathys when something bad happens, such as the Russian Theatre incident that still ended in tragedy, and with every act of violence over in the middle east. You anti-americans and those who are americans and "hate" america because its cool are nothing but a bunch of punks trying to be look awesome.
Get this, I am BETTER then you are, you are NOTHING, just go move to another place if you can't take this kind of discussion without throwing your kind of negative crap into it. Seriously, buzz off. You aren't sounding intelligent by "pointing out" these other horrible atrocitys in the world, because frankly, THIS ISN"T WHAT ITS ABOUT, AND ITS NOT OUR freaking FAULT THAT IT HAPPENS TO THEM!!!!
Or wait, should we just give up every penny we earn and give it to other countries and the "poor" people in our country that don't want to get a job, even though one is open at the gas station down the street, all just so we can shut people up from crying and blubbering about how terrible it is that not everyone gets a nice life.
People can avoid being poor, in just about all cases. But do you think people should be killed by some jerks who hijack a plane and ram it into a building, just because they are avoiding being poor?
Argh, I flat out hate you, and wish a terrible death upon you to, maybe in the after-life you'll see just how much of an **** you were.

I'll keep this to the one post and as neat as possible...
Someone once told me that in america they tend have this feeling of 'oneness' it's all about america, and america feels pretty darn tough. It's not an ego thing, it's not a blind faith thing, it's just a combined spirit of good-will and I don't entirely think it's a bad thing but most other countries have a hard time understanding it because it's almost an entirely USA phenomenon. When 9/11 hit the feeling of safety, of strength, surety and most of all security went flying out the window. Ever remember how upset you felt when something you believed in so strongly its almost your life turned out to be not so true? That's pretty crushing right there
9/11 isn't just the day 3000 people died, it's the day the american spirit took a hit like it's never taken in a very very long time and it's had most people in the good old US reeling since. Course it's actually strengthened the resolve of a lot of people but the overall effect is still a hollow-ness, a sort of low, dark feeling of despair.
but inspite of all this and the emotional impact I can't excuse Xzilen's blatant ignorance either... I could scream at you for that crud about third world countries as you obviously don't have a clue why they're poor or what they go through. But being hot-headed won't do anything constructive here and it'll just cause more heat and hurt. I suggest you look into 3rd world country debt a little more and remember that we're all human at the end of the day; Anyone dying is a bad thing and if you don't respect other people don't expect anyone to respect anything you hold dear either.
Zig, sorry it hurt so much and for barging in like this... -.-
woh woh everyone CALM down. I know its a hard day for everyone, especialy zig. Now that everyone gets the message, let us refrain from posting more flame.
So to get things back...lets talk about our own personal experiences with 9/11, is that ok with you xzilen? When I first heard about the 9/11 attacks, it was at school, my friends told me some plane hit a building in New York, and I thought to myself, "hmm, must be some cesna that hit a building by accident." It wasn't until my first class that I actually heard about the events that happenned. Our class spent the whole time talking about it, listening for some more news from my teacher's computer. Everyone was making estimates to how many people died, like 100,000, 50,000, and whatnot. But anyways, it was a really sad day in the world. So I would like to give thanks to those who died bravely in the WTC attack and tried to help others and whatnot.
Yes..my condolences to anyone who lost someone on 9/11
Xzilen, I'm sure it's the poor people's fault that they are so poor. I'm so positvely sure that the aid money was fairly distributed to every single village. Think about what you're typing, seriously.
i already asked him to stop, mojo. the name of the thread is "...Just Take a Moment"
please.. everyone. for the sake of the DAY
it's JUST ONE DAY
edit: maybe it's just one day, for you. just another day. you care, but you don't care enough to just pay your f***ing HOMAGE, to just let people GRIEVE if they NEED to.. without one-upping everyone wherever the hell you go.
I am not minimizing the deaths of others in this process.
In posting your condolences in this thread, it does not mean you are minimizing the deaths of others. Please don't assume (dread in particular) that we are.
Just because we mourn 3,000 who died in an attack on this day, does not mean we should have to also mourn the deaths of everyone else in the world just to avoid someone taking it out of context and pointing a finger, shouting that we don't care about the others.
Why do we have to have people come into such a nice thread and just turn it into trash? This isn't about Africa or Asia or the millions of people that do die of starvation and do suffer, while that is horrible, it's a sad fact of life, and this is what will happen if we go around and recklessly give food to African and Asian countries then pull out and leave them.
What this thread is about is 9/11 and how it still is the worst terrorist attack ever. I don't know if any of you have seen the special slide-show given to the workers who helped on the 9/11 site but my Geography teacher managed to get a hold of a copy of it, and it is very chilling and moving. I don't know how you can say that choosing whether to jump to your death or die of smoke inhilation is not horrible. Or being crushed to death by sharp, heated steel is an easy way to die. Please! Don't come in here and post about how 3000 people dying in one day, at one place is "hyped". That's just plain sad people, and personal, I think you should feel ashamed. Has humanity really sank this low? 3000 people die and we're talking about it being over-hyped! Please go elsewhere and talk about that, I'll say it again, this thread is about remebering 9/11, not downplaying it.
To all the people who died in 9/11 and especially the firefighters, rest in peace.

but when you've been affected by something like this as i have, you learn things.
it's horrible when people can discount that day for anything but a day of hell on earth.
it's all rushing back. i'm thinking about it again, and i'm crying. again.
everyone who i was told died.. it's too much. for the sake of people who've been affected as i have or worse..
just stop, and just f***ing remember it.
don't even listen to the sad sacks of sh*t that deny that day. don't even acknowledge that ridiculous angst kid prattle.
just know in your HEART and your MIND that you're better, and just remember.
it's not all of us.
it's only that many of us that can be the f***ing philanthropists.
a note to whoever, or whatever:
don't appreciate human life? SHUT UP about it in this goddamned thread, or go experience some human death.
