Amazingly, I found that google news was covering this. They mentioned that the swedish prime minister was also murdered some years ago and never caught. And I thought sweden was a rather humdrum land of saabs and blonds. Was I ever wrong...
Yes Olof Palme, Swedish Prime Minister got murdered when he was heading home from a cinema. He had no bodyguards. This happened 1986
Anna Lindh got murdered in the same street as Palme did when she was shopping in stockholms biggest shop,atleast one of the biggest. She didnt have any lifeguards either.
Imagine this, she get stabbed in a shop and theres atleast 30 peeps seing the incident. And no one does anything!!!!!! A man move forward stab a woman and can flee without getting any resistance. Stuff like this is frustrating. Sure thing that maybe they wouldnt be able to save her, since her injuries was already deadly, but they could have caught the murderer and get to know what his motives are.
Atleast now they think they know who killed her since they got a few evidence. Its a mental sick guy.
That is the problem with Sweden. Sweden is almost crime free and therefor politicians dont need any protection except the king and the prime minister himself. The thing is that after you've just seen somebody stab someone else to death in plain open view, it requires real guts to just walk up to that person and say: "Hey, you know, what you did there wasn't nice..." I mean, when faced with a violent murderer, the instinctive reaction is "Get the hell outta here, do not get involved, who knows who's next, just get OUTTA HERE!" It requires a very deliberate effort to fight that urge, something that only very few people can do. And some of those people might actually get killed themselves if they try something heroic. I know that I for one would NOT attempt to restrain someone with a knife and violent tendencies. If he wants to flee, that is VERY MUCH ok with me, since that means I don't get killed.
