Mentioned in #naturalselection
Someone has posted a link in #naturalselection, which shows how to get NS working under Steam. I thought it might be a good idea to put them up here for everyone to read!

Step #1. Get bit torrent. Sorry, but its the ONLY WAY you are going to get the next files as the servers are all full. Same with WINRAR.
Step #2 get this thingy (click the link!! THE LINK! CLICK IT!!)
Half-Life and CS content files
(http://www.counter-hack.net/Steam-HL.and.CS.Install.Files.rar.torrent)
Step #3 Get steam. Install it (if you ahve allready done so, skip this step)
Step #4 twiddle your thumbs, plan a war against the teletubbies, or do whatever you do while waiting for the file to download.
Step #5 After you have aged 4 years after dling the file, extract the contents into the folder programfiles\steam\steamaps\
Step #6 load steam and do whatever it says.
Step #7 play around with the friends thingy.
Step #8 load up half-life from the games menu, and change settings as appropriate. Launch a single player game and kill yourself a few times on the first bit (for fun of course)
Step #9 Close half-life and steam. Copy your NS folder from it's original place to the directory in the "steamaps" folder with your email address. It's a bit like the old HL dir, and works the same (Plonk your ns dir here)
Step #10 copy fmod.dll from the orignal hl folder to the new hl folder
Step #11 load up steam again.

Hope those are useful for someone here, I take no responsibility for the results of following these instructions!
If anyone wants to let us all know how they get on with these instructions, it'd probably be a good thing.
Happy Steaming!

Thanks for the heads-up, link added.
Well, I didn't write them. Feel free to find/make some clearer instructions. As it is, these are probably better than no instructions at all.

Here's a modified version I did to cut out the useless Bit Torrent stuff and unimportant stuff :S

Uh, into steamapps\
(steamapps\
\ns) or into steamapps\
\half-life (steamapps\
\half-life\ns)? I think putting it in half-life dir broke my games menu...when I moved it up a level the games menu seemed to work again (but I don't see ns either way).
i've already done the directions, i've tried it with the bit torrent file and the offical steam+hl+cs 379MB package, and i haven't the slightest idea how to get ns working
i did a fresh install of ns2.0 to C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\<my email>\ns
but it doesnt show up in the games list and i don't know what to do...
i tried making a shortcut, like so
C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\<my meail>\half-life\hl.exe -game ns
but that just brings up a critical error and causes HL to crash before even loading..
is there a step im missing? i put the fmod.dll file in too, but im still lost on what to do next...
edit: i just re-read the post and evaluated what i did,,, and i did everything instructed, and it didnt work. the instructions don't work, period. if anyone here has gotten it to work (besides with the original steam mod converter) please tell us how
copy ur NS folder into your Steam/SteamApps/your_email_address/Half-Life directory. put it into the HL folder within your "email name" folder. i also copyed the fmod.dll but i dont know if that is needed.
from the official STEAM FAQ pertaining to adding mods:
If you want to add a mod after installing Steam, you need only to put it in the Steam/SteamApps/your_email_address/Half-Life directory. The next time you open the "My Games" list it will be listed under "Third Party Games."
However for me I first copied the NS folder over to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\email@address.com\
Then when I restarted steam, NS showed up under 3rd party games. Although I couldnt connect to servers at first (time outs), I was able to connect to servers as soon as I had copied fmod.dll over to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\email@address.com\half-life\
(For some reason the NS folder was also moved over to the Half-Life folder when i tried playing it... dont know why though )
we have told you multiple times, use the thread in Off Topic for this...
for those too lazy to search for it (since it's only on the first page...
