Republic: The Revolution

Wow
I bought This game last night, it took some adjusting but I finally figured out how to play it (I would say in all it took about 4-5 hours of game play to actually figure out how to play it) the manual helped a bit, but not much, and the tutorial was very basic. The game itself is awesome, I've never played a game quite like it. It reminds me of Risk in a way, but its much more in depth. The premise of the game is simple, after witnessing your parents being abducted by the secret police and never hearing from them again, you vow revenge against the man who was responsible for their arrest (this game is a play on post communist Russia) Years go buy, and through manipulation that man becomes the president of your country (for life mind you) and begins his evil terror-infused reign. You decide that the time has come for a change and begin a "revolution."
Welp, the whole game is about manipulation politics, people, and information. I'm having a ton of fun with it. I'll try and update you on how it goes.

512 pc1066 ram
geforce 4 ti4600 (asus) (bah upgrade time at last, need to hold out till price drop then get fx5900)
and with everything turned up at 1024x768 it gets choppy (theres alot of info to process so I'm guessing its a cpu + vid bottleneck ) not SUPER choppy, but you can definatley notice it, I havent tweeked the settings down yet.
As far as the game, I think its worth the $39 people are charging for it, and besides I think we should all support new types of games, otherwise well just be playing HL/WWII/C&C clones for ever.
There is alot of strategy involved, time management, shift management (what time of the day the people who join you sleep) home management (if things get too hot you gotta move em) morale, information, all sorts of little things. You take a personality test at the start of the game to figure out what attributes your gunna have as the Leader (Avatar they call it) and what your Factions Ideals will be. So far I like it, with 6+ hours invested im not even out of the first city yet. I'm not sure how many htere are all together 5 or 6 I think.
I like original games, so sick and tired of playing the same old games over and over again.
Oh man it took me 3 hours of solid gameplay just to get all the basics down, don't feel bad just keep at it, and get ready to play confused for a while, it'll make sense near the end, PM if you want some pointers though I'll be glad to help.
