Lore Of The Squad.

The study of this organism
If you think about it . . .when you form a organized squad. . .The troops are almost like an organ in a living thing.

Say like the point is your squads leg, for with out it if you move you'll stumble into an waylay and not able to react as fast.

And your scouts is it's eyes, because with out them .you can not see ahead of you so well.

If your squad leader is down . . .then it's like your squad lost it's brain or something.

Think about this next time you deside it's ok if one of your men is killed.

Oh and I posted this so you guys can help me refine it T_T I want it to be bigger but can't think of anymore.

I see what your saying--and its very important to think this prudently when ingame--however, when it comes down to such elements, one must also be quick to react and not be afraid to face loss.

I also agree with your point a squad should have different positions and each one should be filled with those most effective for the case. This would require people listening--but more often then not, a public server would'nt carry such elements.

I would at least have a support unit as being the heart; without beating reinforcements into the streams of combat, we would'nt be alive, now would we?

No it's just sometimes people don't even think of a way to have the rest survive <_< it's normally everyone dies if one person dies . . .trust me I know -_-'

    True.

Like I said on the Day of Defeat Message forums:

Killing the enemy advances your position in every way--having an enemy team witness death after death, gernade explosion after every gernade explosion, brings them to the conclusion they've somehow, despite the elements lossed. Killing disorganizes a foe, keep it up, and no matter you'll win numerically and pyschologically.

I see what you mean but too often I see squads as a dysfunctional family. Sometimes you get some marines who work well together and it's a pleasure to see but more often than not we're oblivious to the rest of our squadmates.

That is all well and accepted, but sometimes the organ of the body can be harmful to the rest of the body and should be removed. In another words, sometimes when you have many marines together, there might be more chance of survival, but quite often the marines will shoot at eachother (by accident) when trying to get ankle biting skulks or block each other while a marine is trying to get away from a offensive chamber. Organs are essential, but once they get bad (for example or lung cancer) it is better to cut off the the side that is infected before it spread to the other organs. In another words, better to be alone sometimes.

    yes

i find that people travelling in groups often get a safe pack mentality - very very dangerous if violently surprised

Bakaneko u r totally right if marines play like this and go in squads of 3 or something and some stay at base to defend it then the marines are practically invinsable.
however if you want to do this mostly you have to do this with some friends and talk about this and work it out before the game and all have mics... thats my meaning
