    Not for a while. It would definitely take a lot of time and resources to make those modes fun and balanced. I can't even fathom how you're supposed to make AvA gameplay work.

    Marines vs. marines wouldn't be too special, not nearly as fun as the current version of NS. Aliens vs. aliens could be fun. Imagine two celerity skulks fighting, or two lerks fighting.

    Flayra has mentioned it before as a possibility for the future, but it's fairly obvious that there are just a huge number of potential problems associated with it and it would not be a simple task. MvA, MvM and AvA would all have to be balanced completely separately, and MvA is hard enough to balance perfectly on its own. I wouldn't blame Flayra at all if he decided it wasn't worth the effort. That sort of thing works great on games like Savage because the structure of the teams are relatively similar, but I have a hard time comprehending how MvM and AvA could possibly be balanced without making major changes to each of them and requiring triple the effort on the part of the devs.

    Sure, there would probably need to be some internal balancing. But it doesn't look like they'd have to change much.

    Just because both sides have the same capabiliies doesn't mean there can't be unbalance. Call it what you want; semantics aside, the fact is that for the game to be fun that way there would have to be changes because the entire teams were created and balanced to compete with the opposite team. MvM might work with minimal changes, but AvA is much more questionable.

    How do you stop the other team of skulks from rushing the other hive and biting it to death right at the beginning? If that is the best thing to do and both teams do it, then there is no point to AvA. A lot has to be changed to prevent that.

    Another problem that exists, and one that I mention every time this thread is brought up, is distinguishing the teams so you can quickly tell who is on your team and who is an enemy. Making one team brighter than the other (or a very different color) solves this problem, but then it also gives one team an inherent advantage of being able to hide in plain sight more easily.

    Yeah, both have been done before very well in other games/mods, and I don't think it would be worth the effort to force the NS universe onto those game models when you could just play in a more fitting setting.

    Not really. Just boils down to who stomps who first. And imagine how long the digestion would take. I say wait with MvM or KvK until everything else is perfect. MvK is still the core of NS, and I think it should stay that way. Diverting resources away from perfecting that is not the way to go.

    I completely agree, I could care less about mvm or kvk. Honestly, it just won't work out in any kind of an enjoyable manner.

    But yes, the entire gameplay would have to be changed....


    Here are only a few issues that would be needed to be worked out.

    MvM:

    - Turrets will be useless. 10 dmg a second is nothing to a marine that shoots 500 dmg in less than 5 seconds. 4 marines walk into a turret farm and mow down the turret factory without even needing a medpack.

    - Electricity? ROFL that would be useless. "Oh no! I can't knife your RT's!"

    - GL spam... would own other marines so badly due to slower movement speeds... GL's would have to deal 1/2 damage to other players to avoid it being whor3d.

    - Jetpacks would probably be a lot more useful than HA as HA = easier target to hit and JP = way way way harder target to hit. And JP's would give much needed speed to the marine team.

    - Shotguns... wouldn't be useful at all untill you get JP's, as there would be no easy way to close the gap.

    - Knife fights would be hilarious <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    - Two teams medspamming each other = teams that drain each other too quickly. Commanders would probably be even more important than they are now.


    AvA:

    - Gorges would get owned hardcore by kamikaze skulks and there would be little other skulks could do to stop them.

    - Skulk fights I'd imagine would be incredibly hard... if one person is about to die, he can just run away back to hive without fearing of getting picked off.

    - There would be a balance between all of the classes, skulks would be the crap unit and so would gorges (but they would be essential as well), and lerks > oni > fade > lerk

    - OC's would suck terribly against skulks...

    - How would you be able to defend your hive easily? Other sucidal skulks can just keep rushing your hive..

    Is this a confirmed fact?? Or just yeh they wanna have it and plan on doing it but nothing is happening about it at the moment??

    Personally i have never been a fan of the idea MvM or AvA, i like the diversity u get with the 2 different teams.

    I nevertheless would give it a go but NS:classic and NS:c will be on the top of my list.
