    in that picture... about 432...

i'm aiming for an end PC of around 550... i haven't beem optimizing anything past my last update in the previous thread...

so there are TONS of polys to be cut.. the only problem is, will i need to?

    550?!
    oh mai thats too lil
  • JaegerJaeger Join Date: 2002-11-28 Member: 10202Members
550 is very low-poly for the gun you're modeling. I'd say 1000 is a good magic number to shoot for. Hell, if you can keep it under 870 that would be uber, but don't be concerned should you bump into the four-figures range.

i'm not going into tripple digits, i know for sure...

with about 180-200 faces that i can delete, the poly count is now at 640... and i have yet to fill in the front, loop, to the trigger guard, or to do the lam support...

    so 800 ~ 900

It looks good, but you need to reverse some faces(stating the obvious, I know, sorry), and the polycount is really good. Hopefully you keep it this low, or make it even lower!

those faces aren't wrong... they are gone...

that's the best thing about the techinque i am using... no bad faces (cause you don't create faces at all)

here's an update.. Poly count included in pic... same with all items selected... so you can see what is done, and what isn't...

fix the face errors and it's good to be meshed and skinned <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

looks like it has potential to be a great replacement. If only modeling didn't have so many stages to it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> stupid meshing/animating.

Great, now we can all kill George Lucas....

TSA colour would fit the theme more.

Urm...pic? Look at any of the default marine player models and structures. They all follow a green/gray metal with blue for electronic displays.
