I know Counter-Strike 1.6 had Bots, and the option
to use them was right there in the main menu when launching
a new game.
I don't think TFC , DoD, Half-Life or Opposing Force had bots though.
I haven't installed Steam yet but I will be in the next few days.
Maybe you could try the official Steam forums, or the official Counter-Strike
forums and ask the players?
Good luck with that, you've just given me another reason to wait before installing
Steam again <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
seems they romeved them for some reason
the only bot related preformance problem i had was when they were analyzing a new cusom map
There was no real problem with the bots, Valve just didn't think they were as good as they could be, and figured that they should be left out of the non-beta for a little while. Trust them, every delay they have ever made has or will turn out good. Looks at HL, it was delayed a year and its the best game ever.
CZs bots are done by Relic, and CS1.6 bots are done by <a href='http://www.turtlerockstudios.com/forums/csbot/viewtopic.php?t=76' target='_blank'>The guys over at Turtle Rock Studios</a>
CZs main selling point is supposed to be its improved graphics along with its single player missions.
To add to that, CZs bots are designed for the missions only. They aren't multiplayer bots, they are just SP AI. made for the missions. The turtle rock bots are for Multiplayer only, and are able to adapt to maps and respond to radio messages.. They are actually quite cool.
Both work for what they do, in their own respective.
It all makes sence now, thnx

Oh, and to my knowledge, there is also a THIRD offical CS bot in the making for the Xbox CS, this one done by Valve/the CS team... I'm not completely sure, but supposedly its a different bot from the ones in CZ and Steam.. I'll go try to find out some stuff about it

yeah, but they tactically charged each other like mad, while swimming
and none of them noticed the big shiny tank-on-boat chasing them down
it's a ... unique experiance
They don't work well with func_vechicles, specficily ones that are large and make it hard to attack the people inside from outside.
