That and the fact that you got stuck in walls 1/5 blinks?

Actually, the old blink had no problem with world brushes (walls) but it has quite some trouble with Entities... usually you would blink right through them, but if you hit it on a weird angle, you can get caught on the surrounding walls.
A good example is the ns_siege window. People often got stuck on the walls around the window, never the window itself, when trying to blink through. The big problem with the old blink is people didn't realize that the entire path to the spot you wanted to blink to had to be able to fit your entire body, other wise it would glitch. Kinda like the new blink, can't get somewhere if you can't fit.. Except instant insted of just really fast.

I cant really call anything good that teleports you out of the map if being "lucky".

You most certainly couldn't blink into the skulk sized vents in 1.x, and you DEFINATELY couldn't have used the old blink to help you move faster through the vent...

Yes you could, you just needed the right angle

Well at least you can blink around corners now.. kinda hard to do that before. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

The old one wasnt hard to do once you knew how. And I kinda liked it that not everyone seemed able to use it lol. The new one is funner i guess, but i honestly think it LOOKS stupid. Its weird... <!--emo&::fade::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/fade.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='fade.gif'><!--endemo-->

But that is a good reason. One shouldn't require instructions on how to get an ability to work.

I, too, really enjoyed the old blink, but I understand why it needed to be changed.

The new blink makes fades ten fold stronger.

Well I personally am a HUGE fan of the new Blink. I never really tried to get the hang of 1.0x blink, but then again I was really big on marines at that time. I love the new aliens and I play them about as equally as Marines.

Back on topic, blink is probably my favorite fade ability. I never get celerity tho because without adrenaline, a few quick swipes and you're depleted <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Seriously, the new Blink is extremely powerful. It's just better hands down than the old one, regardless of whether or not you knew how to use it properly(and most people did not, and still don't now really). If you guys want your claim to fame in knowing how to use blink to its full extent, there's even more potential for that now. Just watch some clan game demos.

meh well in my opinion the old blink was better because rather than being an offensive kind of thing you could just be pretty much invinsible...If you ever got low on health then you could just suddenly dissappear...

The problem with the old blink is it was hard to get where you wanted rather than against an opposite wall.
