Player Decapitation In Ns?

WTH At The Marine?
I was just looking at the 3 released combat map pictures, and I realised some marine have been decapitated? For an example inside the red circle of the following image looks like the guys head has been ripped off, is it just me, is it an error or has this been included to NS? If so it goes against all the foundations NS started out with, most recently broke foundation is "no human blood". More gore in the game would put me off playing in the future.

    Y?

Anyhow his body is just crumpling, his head is hanging over.

the marine is just doing his death-animation "bend over, stand up, fall back dead" routine

    no decaps.

Better Example below, as there seems like their is no head on the guy.

Again, its just you. Give up.

    he's just bending over..

don't worry about it. I seriously doubt that NS will become a doom/quake/heretic/hexen lookalike. half-life can't handle those kind of effect too well.

s'ok thurs I noticed it in normal NS and was all like 'coooool!' until I realised it was just the really odd death animation they have that bends the head in such a way it looks like it's gone for a second or two... keep your eyes peeled next time a frontiersman keels over and you'll see what people mean

psst hes just falling over, they do that in normal ns 2.0 too! OMG! The angle just makes it apparently look like he's decapitated... at least to you it does.

I changed the negative effects and added an omni light behind the marine, I could always see his head there, maybe this might help you see it

Heh, i know its off topic.... but a view like that would rock in NS . Make a good phero replacement, its just like AvP navigation mode.

navigation mode? you mean the universally loathed one in AvP that was so short-sighted and crud that it actually put aliens at a disadvantage in the dark?

    no thanks =s

Personally, I dont think any amount of gore would stop me from playing... Ive been to slaughterhouses.. hehe, so a little digital Gore isnt gonna make me lose my lunch. I think It'd be cool if Aliens as well as Marines could actually have visible damage, Im not saying to the degree they had in SOFII (Man it was cool to take off HALF a guy's Face), But I doubt the HL engine is really capable of that. Although.. I have seen a few HL mods where characrers could have limbs blown off, Like in Heart of Evil, or Riccochet.

this image has actually been used for noticing a "bulkier" type of marine. A behemoth, if you will. Well they didn't think it was a death animation actually

While decapitation gore certainly wouldn't benefit NS, I wouldn't mind if the Onos didn't drop a fully intact marine corpse after digesting the marine. It'd be more sensible--and still PG-13--if the Onos passed nothing but a helmet and boots. Then we could all laugh at the poor digested n00b marine's remains.

I roll over in embarassment and allow you all to laugh at me. From my mistake lead to the other discussion of how decapitation would affect NS. Hence lock the thread. Sorry for the waste of time.
