Remember that translucent BB/AR? Hows about a bunch of alien models using that and with a nucleus of sorts to reveal the hittable areas?

If you're a new player, its frustrating to not know WHERE to shoot, and you need to go to specific threads in these forums to find guides that actually SHOW you.
I don't consider marine models borderline hax because they look like humans and thus you can tell where to bite them. I just thought it'd be an interesting way of showing aliens, and useful to new players. It fits with the story, looks quirky...... all in all a very good idea.
And again, how is it cheating when its only helping new players understand how to kill kharaa? If its such big a deal for the onos then just perhaps we just try it for the skulk, lerk, and fade.

I agree. I'd be glad to see where I should be shooting. I remember emptying my entire lmg clip into a stationary skulks face, point blank, and not a smattering of green blood anywhere... then he ate me. Ugh, that **** me off to no end.
e/ tell me where you want the blobs on the aliens to be. i.e on the skulk it's hind quarters?

I agree, lets set the dispute aside (likely as old as the modelling forum, heh).
It would be something like
Skulk Hindquarters
Fade Mid-torso
Gorge hindquarters
Lerk torso
Onos Mid-torso
Obviously I'm in agreement that if its considered a cheat/hack by the devs, then its a no no........ just a part of me is intrigued as to how useful new players would find it. Morbid curiousity?
As for the 'hitboxes' it's not the actual hitboxes that's a problem at all; it's the hull.
Hitboxes outside the hull never get checked and the hull's basically a slightly taller version of gordon freeman ^^;
There's plenty threads on it though and the technical problems involved.
I'd make the skin sorta veiny and give it a dark 'core' that almost looks like some sort of festering cancer o.O
As for interest....... well its all gone quiet.

As for the onos - Send me the files please? I just decompiled and recompiled the standard onos and it works perfectly... What error comes up for you?
