It can be any size though beyond a medium size map may get confusing, since it CAN be level-over-level (finally!) and there MUST be one hive in there for the alien team. [along with all the standard 32 player spawns in the Ready room, and two team starts with 16 team starts in each, a env_gamma and such. basic NS guideline stuff]

So I take this to mean that info_locations are out huh? Seeing as how they disregard xy I can understand that. That's too bad though.... named areas add both to teamwork and atmosphere.

If you read the mapping guidlines it will tell you that NS picks up info_locations by using them as an xy bounding box and disregarding z position. (makes sense for regular NS since you can't do level over level there) With co_ maps this <i>could</i> still work, except that any level over level areas would all need the same name. So things like elevator shafts, stairwells, multilevel data processing rooms etc etc work just fine. But the three level marine spawn, fighting area, alien hive configuration would only be able to have one info_location for all three floors.
