i helped my team winwith this alot
what ya need to do is not go gorge and drop a rt. if u spawn in maint good, if u didnt get to it. facing the hive, exit through the right opening. to ur right should b a railing with sum pipes to the right of it. jump over the railing and face the railing. u will c 2 vents. jump into either 1 (both lead to the same place. follow the path ( ull have to climb a wall) and ull find urself close to a major artery of the rine movement. to ur right should b a res node with a barred vent above it. climb into the vent (the bar doesnt do anything believe it or not) and follow it again. (u once again have to climb a wall). there should b a hole in front of u. DO NOT JUMP IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wait until u get enough res for a lerk. once u do go lerk and look down the hole. U will find that u r above the rine spawn. u have a direct line of fire to the rt there so spike it!!!! ur goal here is to keep continous pressure on the rines and get enough res for a hive. sum rines will hear/c and **** to investigate. they will probably c u, so spike/spore them to death, congrats, u r now 2-6 res closer to ur goal. unfortunately, now the rines know ur in the vent. hopefully u have a dc up by now. request that a gorge not get scs 1st and plead for a dc as regen will probably save ur life 50 times over. keep pressuring them and hopefully sum skulks will help u out. once u get the 50 res required to go gorge and drop a hive, do it!!!! once u have dun this u r free to go skulk and help ur team. Hope u liked my little strat. LERKS RULE!!! + =

Hmmm , the horseshoes vent was already well known as a vicious one , now in the new Eclipse there are 2 (the new one is weldable though)

Smart marines can stay under the MS vent apperture with a shotgun , and if you don't retreat fast enough your 30 res investment goes down the drain.

Sensory 1rst is actually the best choice in that case , because of the Scent of Fear upgrade : you can then harass marines endlessly , with about 0 exposure. If gorges make defs , regen helps you stay effective and keep catching the marine's attention without having to fly back to the hive to heal , but marine ambushers might catch you. Movs however are the best , you can either take silence and spike clueless marines if you're an sneaky sniper , or take adrenaline and spread spores everywhere if you're a vulgar spammer.
I've seen lerks with celerity in 2.0 clanmatches , it might have countered shotguns.

Hm, some marines will also immeditely drop mines at the start and run to that vent and place like a couple mines in it.... Horray for me?

Heh. Yes, very few people do it, but now that this is more to be expected, I would presume it may happen.

Not trying to be overly critical here, but wouldn't it make more sense to save that 30 res you had spent to go lerk (considering your objective here is to drop a hive), and just save 20 more, instead of spending 30 (+2 if you get an upgrade) and then saving up 50? That vent is a great spot to annoy the marines at, I agree, but I'd rather have a skulk save for hive than a lerk....

True, dropping a res is a better option, most marines will get smart over time,
fatwang seems to be playing against mainly noobs though where more experienced marines and commanders will place mines, weld or shotgun that vent.

It is a good strategy however if you already have some people going gorge and getting resources and you have nothing to do at all...

However, if you do that strategy... and lerk already, and a teammate puts a different chamber down, you will be in termoil if you get injured as lerks die quite easily.

If they put a turrets underneath, you will have to take that about first.... and the turret will bring marine attention..... and that is bad.

It's a good idea though if you are feeling the need to annoy or take a risk.
