Hiding At The End Of A Game

What do you guys think of it?
I think everyone who has played the game for a significant amount of time has had those games where the enemy team has clearly won, but won't finish the game up. I tend to get terribly bored when this happens and thus I go and occupy myself by trying to establish a hiding spot, so when the game ends I end up drawing it out longer than it should. Sounds pretty lame eh?
I don't like to think of it that way. After a long serious game, the losing team members can earn something of a moral victory by surviving for awhile or making a spectacular kill when the enemy finds them. Likewise, the winning team can relax and compete among themselves to find the hiders first, and either earn glory by defeating them, or ridiculed(in a friendly fashion) when their name shows up next to a knife sprite .
Though there are times when hiding just makes your team angry, such as losing after a rush and everyone just wants to get the next game going. If people on my team are wanting it to simply end then I'm usually willing to /kill myself.
The hiding game at the end of a longer match can be an interesting diversion for both teams, in which they take a break from the usual stressed teamwork game and compete on an individual level to survive the longest or kill the hiders off in the most humiliating way possible.

EDIT: Changed the one instance where I used "match" to "game". I agree that something like that doesn't have a place in a clan match.

So in short. Thumbs up.
Most of the time u get found out easily, i usually find myself in a vent with all of my team dead, i tell then where i am and knfie a few skulks b4 i die, although ive also managed to take down their last hive when they didnt have any dc farms left and we won that one too.
U see? us "lamers" have our uses
But if u do this with the teams blessings, funny situations can occur.... like defeating the aliens via chopping the hive in half
Hey, I enjoy chasing that last rine down with sensory. I like to para kill the last living thing on the map.
Such things don't bog the game down. You really can't hide from aliens unless you've a bloody huge tfarm that noone's found. And even then it'd need to be somewhere like red room (actually, if the tfarm is huge, you should have reloced to it or been close to relocing anyhow).
On the flipside, marines chasing down that last alien will have to contend with OCs, DCs, and MCs. RFK means the gorge can keep setting them up. GLs will clear it out at a decent rate, but sometimes you have to siege. I don't mind so much as long as it doesn't seriously effect the game.
Chasing the last rine down - 1 min
Chasing last gorge down with 3dc - 2 min assuming JP and GL
Chasing last gorge down with 3+ DC and an OC farm - Not funny.

Gorges cant build anything except another hive after the last hive goes down. OC farms are easy to take down, LMG + HA + lvl 3 weapons and a welder will solve all of ur problems.
It can be really funny to watch a team of Onii and Fades walk past your spot a half dozen times and never notice you. Or go hunting for that 1 remaining gorge who is camped out somewhere waiting for you to try to kill him.
Most games its better if it just ends but some times its fun!
To add insult to injury....people waste a ton of res building those little "hiding spots" that could have been spent helping win the game. Waste of time and resouces too.
Now, some might not like this, but I recall some damn fun and extremely hairy endgames with me perched down the end in HA&LMG after everything in base went boom-boom, with a stream of skulks charging towards me alá Aliens, and desperately trying to mow them down before they could reach me and xenocide. Cue the entire dead marine side egging me on, with much laughter from the aliens as they baited me and whittled down my ammo.
The point? Hiding can be fun, if you let it be. Fighting to your last breath and clip of ammo, screaming all the way Hudson style, makes for an amusing ending. And I'll keep waking up in a cold sweat seeing those skulks barreling down the vent towards me, teeth bared and chuckling en masse... o.o;;
(Diieeee alien skum! I'll take you all on! Get some, get some!)>.
Yesterday we had a gorge in the vents outside of Waste Handling with just 3 DC's. He'd dropped them just before our final hive died (the game was over, no question). After the marines figured it out, they rushed up there and stacked mines on his head.
Also, I was a marine, the aliens were taking us down on Mineshaft. We'd relocated (somewhere) and I managed to get back to marine start and hid back by the res tower. An onos found me first, but instead of killing me, he jumped on my head and protected me I was however eventually parasited to death despite his efforts...
But ah well. Yes there are times when it's just annoying but often it can be an entertaining side bar from the regular gameplay.
