<div class="IPBDescription">it's fun, too</div> Don't want to get devoured, gutted, or charged to death?
Get your comm to drop you three packs of mines. Put them all on the floor in one place and stand on them. Instant no-go spot <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
This is fun in last stands. All of a sudden the action just STOPS because the other players are too afraid to advance! You can shoot them to your hearts' content.
Note: If there are fades or gorges, make them your #1 priority to assassinate them (you may need teamwork to kill a gorge). Skulks can also set off the mines with Xeno, but not many think of that.
Have fun!!!

Onos can kill things beyond mine detonation range. Devour range is about the same.

You could just get a skulk to step on the mines. You don't need xeno.

Then there are lerks... standing still or remotely still is just asking for it.

I don't mean put the mines in 1 exact place. I mean put the mines in a general spot, where the onos can't reach you before stepping on one of them (which would set them all off).

As for lerks, yeah, move if you see a lerk; but basically if an onos is chasing you, jump on the mines and youre safe <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

If the point is a ruse, you would WANT the kharaa to know there are lots of mines there. The point of stacking them is to have the onos not notice his impending doom.

It happened to me once. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> I was an onos (Tanith)and I was making my way to the rine base when they said: "Onos, I suggest you don't come here..."
    "Why?"
    *Evilness*"Surprise : )"
I rushed down the corridor and noticed a single mine and thought it wasn't worth the time to avoid it, so I ran over it. Then <b>BOOOM!</b> me = dead

    Once tincy-winny flaw.

You, plus all other marines, structures, and possibly spectators get totally nuked.
    At least the aline dies too! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

the unfortunate thing is if 1 skulk runs on your mines that are on a step and blows up all 20. So what you should do is put a "skulk mine" in front of all the other mines so a skulk will blow them up instead; if you see it blow up some skulk put it back where it was. the only classes that can make it over 1 mine alive will be the ones you're trying to kill.

BTW the whole point of this isn't necessarily to "kill" an onos or whatever, it's just fun. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Bumping this topic. Luring Onos onto mines is simply the greatest tactic known to man.
It only takes 2 people and 1 mine pack. Put the mines on a staircase or something. The first marine gets the attention of the onos and plays hard-to-get, leading the Onos onto the mines. Usually the explosion will kill the first marine. Now the second marine has to charge the confused Onos -- he'll have something like 50 health! Even with a lowly LMG! Instant kill on a fresh Onos for only 10 res.

you want to avoid getting devored?

    bind b "/say /stuck"

with any luck you get a second chance and that maybe enough.

it's not an exploit it's a plugin!!!!! jk, dont do this you jerks. unless you can get away with it.
