flayra? is it possible to remove the overriding pldecal.wad from the menu? your goal is to ban the console (not need it anymore), but with this overriding in the customize menu, you cannot have your own pldecal, because hl overwrites it everytime you change your name without console. This is no prob for me, but if you truly want to ban the console, this is needed (for noobs)

I don't believe it was ever said that Flayra wanted to ban the console. (Although I might be mistaken)

I think that what NS is trying to do is obsolete the need for menus within the game. Instead we have the readyroom and the on-screen 'pie-menu' selection system. Neither attempt to obsolete the console.

I highly doubt that flayra would eliminate the console. For us HPBs, there are some useful commands that we can use in the console to help improve our ping and performance while we're in a game. Also, The console is useful to bind player specific taunts when you're in a game.

Flayra's goal is to make the use of the console totally pointless to the average player. What he's looking to do is get those who play Starcraft over into the FPS genre, and they shouldn't be confronted with a bizare command system that sounds like arcane mumblings from the Necronomicon.

Thats what i mean. Then it would be good to be able to create your own decal, and not have to use the console to change name etc. (but then. if you know how to create a decal using wally etc. Then you might as well learn the few console commands.)-

Ummm yeah, I use the console all the time for quickly binding stuff whil I'm playing, no sense in disabling it <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>
