Alien On Dial-up Attacking Turrets Lag Problem

I've managed to find a solution for the dial-up lag bug for my friends on dial-up except in one specific situation. If my buddy on dial-up attacks a room full of marine turrets, as an alien, he basically freezes. His ping rockets up into the 4000+ range, and he can't move. It is a recipe for certain death and limits what he can do in the game. It also takes a while for his ping to recover after he dies and respawns.
Has anyone found a solution for this specific problem? If you have please post what you have done to solve the problem.
Thank you in advance.

Besides, you can get a dsl line for basically the same price as dial-up.
Another way to "fix" this problem would be to have someone create super-low poly turrets. Like... so low it's just a box.
There is no real "quick fix" with dial-up issues in NS because the game does transmit a great deal of information at once.
Sorry. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

bla bla bla broadband isnt everywhere
ping is not effected by graphix.......
NS WIL PLAY WITH a 56K............
have him run with net_graph 3
watch choke, loss, and ping and tell us corelations
also if it is choke going up, disable QOSPacket scheduler
basicaly pull up his network settings and under TCP/IP disable qospacket scheduler.
if this aint it, tell us more about the system, the net_graph 3 stats etc

Thanks for that tip, I'll see if that helps.

A bit of a pain when you are dealing with the problem second hand. I will see if I can run a test with him and find out what exactly is happening with choke, loss and ping. The only thing I can watch when I am on the server with him is ping. I'll see what I can do to get him to get me the other info.

In an age where DSL is soon to be obsolete, dial-up shouldn't ever be used.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I often wonder... how is it possible that people can be as ignorant as pronouncements like that make them appear to be? Go vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger or something...
though I then point out that Ahnold is actualy a very good and viable canidate (dude, made his first million BEFORE going into movies simply with smart investing, the Terminater is frighteningly smart ;P)
ok, enugh off topic ;P
Yes, 56K will work perfectly fine with NS, it is specificly designed so that you can <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
The only thing NS really REQUIRES is a decent CPU (mine is 1.1) and OGL
