ok first off to bring ppl up to speed theres a racing mod for hl called HalfLife Street Racing. in all honesty from the start it looked pathetic and was no match for the fantastic looking hlrally. but i just found out that the team making hlsr are even more pathtic than their mod. in a nutshell, the ######## basically stole the code from the hlrally team and tried to pass it off as their own. funnily enough, the hlsr tools continue to work on their pissy mod but i urge all of yas to spit on them if u see em (just look for the wankers wearing the "im a hlsr tool" tshirt).

I agree, the HLSR team are very immature and i completely disagree with EVERYTHING they are doing. the HLR team, who hangs out in IRC alot, are a great bunch of guys! My main dislike here is that i completely hate mods that are next to complete copies of another one in the works. I think HLR should take action to this, they STOLE the code. Hope you guys are still going strong! (HLR Team)

Well, all I can say is that if people want to play a HL based rally game then they will almost certainly go for HL rally. You said it youselves that HLSR is nothing compared to HLR, so I suspect it will just dissapear, and there will be next to zero servers. I think the HLSR team are wasting their unimportant little lives.

HLr and HLSR are 2 different kind of mods, they both look fun, granted the HLr models and especially the skins look alot better than the HLSR ones, but i like the HLSR idea, if only the team would act more mature. we'll see if they'll ever release HLSr, it's already been "dead" for a couple of hours, then they decided to continue, I know i'll try both mods when they're released (don't expect HLSR to be out any time soon, they're still in a very early stage)

Being one of the caretakers as it were of #hlrally, I've had to put up with a lot of crap from zer0. Believe me, it's JUST ZER0 that starts this crap. Hell, idle in #hlsr for a few hours when he's not there and everything is perfect. Then he comes in and the #### hits the proverbial fan.

HLSR has.. potential for a good mod, but with a leader like zer0 I doubt this a lot. Besides plans for GT mode HLRally have been around a lot longer than HLSR.

Call it a bias opinion, but HLSR can never compare to the true spectacle that is HLR.

Oh! I remember that! I didnt even know who he was at the time, and was completely oblivious to this whole thing. So thats what Zer0 was talkign about with his "mod". I thought he as some bragging young un with nothing better to do but lie and try to start something. Now it all makes sense. heh heh. Well, Personally, after looking at HLRally, and than looking at HLsR, I think I wil like HLRally better. Also, many NS mappers are working on stuff for HLRally, so, they get my vote. HLR is easily the winner. They did everything, and they even had plans for street racing later on, and along comes some ######## like zer0 and tries to take glory for something that no-one on the team even came up with, they may of made a few maps and models but that only pisses me off even more, because all they did was copy exactly what was already made. HLSR will eventually die

My friend who was working on a modification idea I had called Shockwave Arena, had doctorskizo or whatever as a webber for it. He stole HL-rally's site, which I caught on rather fast as thing still said HL-rally or whatever on it, so it's a poor conversion. However, I greatly hold a grudge against the makers of HL-rally, as they came in and continuously harassed my friend because the site was stolen, even after I commented that the site was removed half a minute after we were first told of it. They continued for a few days past, until I stepped in and simply banned them all from the channel and went to the rally one and told them all to stfu about a dead thing, much more harsh than that. This doesn't mean I think it's right for HLSR to do it, so don't think that, and if this hasn't been sent to PHL, I'll gladly be doing it as of right now anyway. But, I believe most of the HL-rally are just ########, hopefully though it wasn't any of you as it was a a group of 6 who just continued on and on.

hlsr shouldnt get recognized as a mod, since all they did was models, so really what we are voting on is what is better, HLR, or HLR with different models, and the coding ###### up

hey thanks guys for your opinions. glad to see one of the hl communities is still open minded to all sorts of discussions even if it doesnt directly involve them.

you won't believe the responses i got from a few other fav mod forums i frequent to. some people actually responded to this like u guys in a mature and interesting way. but the majority replied with something along the lines of "do u think we care?". i wont name any names but it just saddens me that ppl would have such a crude attitude to somethin like this. i mean, if they seriously didnt care, why waste their time posting in the thread in the first place?

guess the only way most ppl care is if it had happened to themselves. ah well thats life. bigger problems in the world to worry about. if any moderators want to lock the topic now looks like a better time than any.

well...all i have to say is that the guy who worte that got "fired" from the mod before he wrote it...he was mad...he even kickbanned every single idler in the irc channel (#hlsr) out of anger i would guess....and before he did that he told all idlers that hlsr had died....i think its really childish what he is doing now...and starz...your probably his friend...and he has asked u to post this in every mod forum u know....which kind of shows how childish he is getting

I remember making fun of the HLSR leader as well when he came to the PHorums, as HLR was already doing a good enough job at a thing I believe was stupid in the first place, making a driving game on HL. Seriously, I disbelieve it will be good, and making a second game is like saying "We want to do CS but with an AK-74 and a stamina bar". Not saying CS is a bad idea, but doing the second part just seems 4-10 times as dumb.
