Yay textures! Here’s my new map… I’m kind of disappointed with it from a visual standpoint. These are some pretty good angles but it looks a lot worse from most other ones and the hive and marine spawn rooms are ugly. I’m not sure about the game play cause it hasn’t been play tested yet.

    Bloody bugger in hell that is nice. Great usage of those new mapping textures, beautiful lights and to top it off there is some rather unusual top notch architechture. Co_Core looks good.

    Woah, I really like the way this map looks. My only gripe is that gangway in the first pic. I would think it would be really annoying to accidently fall off it. Maybe some handrails?

    Otherwise, I can't wait to play it!

    This map looks fantastic, but the layout and level-over-level parts make me even more excited to play it. The middle is one huge vertical room with tons of hiding spots and flanking routes. I can't wait.

    Thanks for the comments everyone, and if you fall in that big room there’s a conveniently placed pool of water to break your fall. As for the ugliness you guys wanted, here you go.

    This is the marine spawn; it looks overloaded with all kinds of **** sticking out of the walls. The orange doesn’t work too well here either. The pipes beside the elevator on the right hand side of this screen need to be replaced with something that can actually lift the elevator. The whole composition of this room is off, but I’ll do my best to fix it up. I don’t want to show every main area in the whole map before it gets released so I’ll leave the hive out of this thread.

    From a visual aspect I have to say that the marine spawn is near perfect. However, it is just too cramped. A good marine start needs to have a higher cieling and more room (for onos to attack and for defensive purposes) a defendable spawn area will be extra incentive for not relocating.

    Keep in mind this is a co_ map, there is no base and there is no relocating.

    Looks good. but grr my map name is similar. Do you care if my name is co_re?? I haven't started much and can change it. Though it only matters if I finish or not.

    ok,after seeing that, i realise i officially suck at mapping. I have all the idea, but i cannot get them down in any decent from to do them justice. If anybody is stuck for ideas... co_frigate anyone?
