    2 weeks, hmm, i honestly think more could be done in 2 weeks. Some ppl manage whole maps in 2 weeks, great maps.

    Bah, just ignore me, im tired.

    i think so too, but this is my first ns map and i had to learn all of its quirks and entities. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> its also pretty much my first serious map.

    well, have fun. I usually take 2-3 months to do a map.

    I've been working on Co_Sandman for, eh, 5 months now. (It was originally going to be an Ns_ map.)

    Looks good to m3. ^_^

    Everybody maps at their own pace.

    I like the architecture, but I'd like some more light to be able to see it. The creators of the place would probably not depend on some monitors and trim lights to illuminate the whole place.

    i think i may make the top of that long main stretch a big skylight. do you think that would make sense in the main computer processing room?

    i should also note that this room is on a 45 degree angle in the editor, in hindsight that was a bad idea but at least its unique. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Could you consider either lowering the roof or tightening the walls together? Doing so will help give your map more of a feeling of claustrophobia... tall and narrow or wide and short... but not both, and I think this room borders too much on the side of having both.

    Probably best just to lower the roof. I think this would help considerably.

    The roofs over the RTs, make them arches with glass in the top, to give off more light on the res node only. Then have strip lights along the bottem of the floor as trimming. Would give off more light, I believe.

    Oh, and I dont know anything about entities, r_speeds, none of that. Only brushes and texturing, so, I'm a bit new..

    For a beginner, this looks very good. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Just a bit of criticism:

    - Lights, lights, lights... It's too dark.
    - Details. I know you spent a lot of time doing those computers and they do look nice, but you need more stuff (pipes, wires, chairs, vents, tables, whatever.
    - Architecture is good but not interesting enough. Try to make it a bit less non-linear looking (bumps and other things on walls)

    Keep up the good work and good luck. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    More textures would mix things up a bit <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    If you are using the gamma entity in your map, it is important that you chuck your screenshots into a photo editor and crank up the gamma before posting them. Otherwise they look a bit dark.

    Very nice for the first room you have ever made. My first map was so nasty. It was a Quake 1 map, called "the machine" where there were heaps of things that would kill you on the press of a button. Needless to say, I knew nothing about vis, and had leaks in my level so put boxes around it and htings like that.

    "WTH?" I thought "Why are these doors disappearing?"

    Must have something to do with rendering >1000 wpolys (this is in Quake I)

    So very nice work. Mapping is a very technical field, and to get somthing that nice looking on your first try is not bad at all. Keep it up and I know you will make it. Just remember to make lots of 90 degree corners and s bends and you will be fine. Otherwise your map will barf.
