<div class="IPBDescription">Tranlucent Chrome Effects</div> BlackPanther, The other day I had an idea for making the eyes in HL1 have a simulation of HL2's eye wetness. This would be done by making the eyes seperate from the head to first give them depth, then give them their own texture so they'd look alot better. Next, I'd add a second layer just a few pixels in front of the main eye that would have a simple gradient type of texture that and also be tranparent with a chrome effect, so looking at the model from different angles would make the "chromed" texture slide around within it's coordinates while still allowing you to see the actual eye.
Then today I had an idea that would work for your hi-poly models on the screens of computer-based items: You'd add this layer idea to the screens of your computer-based high-poly models that would give it a glare effect of a real screen. I'd do this myself actually, but to tell the truth I got grounded and had my computer taken away the other day which is why I ask you (mainly) or anyone else to try this idea out for me.
If I have been unclear on my description, then I'll get back to you guys next week when I'm on a school computer.
