it would be great if more people started to go over to steam i only had one issue (not steam related) and it was taken care of in the tech support forum <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Well, why not discuss about what can be done toward that ?

    I can't find any Steam-NS-server in europe. Worldwide no server with a ping <350 and overall only 5 server (with a ping >400). <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

EDIT: Usually i got a ping around 40-50 (DSL Fastpath).

    Currently i play on:

    BattlefortheGalaxy.com #2 SteamIDs NS v2.01e
    66.208.106.2:27016

    redphive.org STEAM -2- NS 2.01 [C-D REQUIRED]
    24.207.0.211:27015

Currenty there are 54 servers, of those, 8 all together have people currently playing, 3 have bots.

well, we only went over to steam because we run our cs server of the same box.
more people would be moving over to play on steam if the bigger servers went over like CoFR, the hamptons, lunixmonster, etc.
but i guess they just waitin till its officially supported
so we might have to as well

I play on Steamed NS. It works fine for me (other than the bugged menus, the ex_maxerrordistance spam in console, which I have fixed, and the missing sprite errors, which I need to do so. Any help/direction on that issue?)

Anyway, I play on battleforthegalaxy and freaksunleashed. Sometimes on one of the redphive servers. Those are usually pretty active. Only "problem" is that I'm in the UK, so I get an average ping of ~150, which is still kinda respectable.

For all you people saying "steam sux", leave this thread and go elsewhere.

No, they haven't. Only thing they've said is when steam is stable enough to handle it (which seems to be soon)

    Well I did it guys.

I installed Steam yesterday and also the NS v2.0 Steamed installer.

I managed to play a few NS games. Ture there aren't many populated NS Steamed servers but we have to start someday...

The only problems I had were with the in-game GUI graphics but I know of another thread to fix this.

Other then that, I have nothing to complain about Steam. I even played all the other games.

Now how do we attract more NS players in Steam now ? No one started to talk about it. Maybe we should start a thread of it's own for this ?

    i just don't want to download steam .. im dial-up ..

i'll have to start the download and go do a triple shift.. even then i'll probably get disconnected 15 minutes into the download <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

No dial-up should be without a resume program. A bit-torrent version resumes.

Hi again, I thought I'd post an image of how many servers I get on NS Steamed (with filters ping<250). Some of them indicate usages of the Cheating-Death tool. I thought Steam didn't need this ?

As you can see, most of those servers are empty. :-(

NS isn't VAC enabled yet, and many people prefer Cheating Death regardless.

Certain CD versions have frozen my computer. It sometimes doesn't even register that I have it on through Steam. I'm not fond of the program.

If there's a bunch of Steam players out there, I have a Euro server which is currently sitting idle about 5-6 days per week. I'd love for it to be used more, as I'd hate to shut it down to save on CPU time for something else.

Hence, any clans, groups, random pubs, who'd like to use Nano Redux (See the sig) please feel free. That's the whole point of it. I'm always in IRC or nearby, so just lemme know if so.

Browser : I find Steam fine, but there's much more resistance in NS even moreso than many other mods. Give it time, and be patient for 2.1 and it'll all come good <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
