<div class="IPBDescription">Getting fixed?</div> As of now bilebomb DOES NOT work unless you are nearly right next to the structure. Is this getting fixed for 2.1? It makes turret farming horribly effective untill you have onos or a large team effort.

    um? I'm pretty sure it does work. Do you want it to be made into a projectile so you can shoot it from far away?

    No, you misunderstand me. Yes it WORKS, but only if I am right next to the building. If I try and shoot it from a vent like in early 2.0 it does no damage. I have no problem with how it shoots or the range on it. But If you try and clean out something from a vent it does no damage at all.

    Welcome to game balance Worm. 2.01 is the most balanced form of NS I ever played. In it skill and team work always win, so get both of those.

    Yeah, you have to have direct line of sight to the structure to have it take damage. Making BB work that way was a temporary fix to the 'bile bomb goes through walls' bug of previous 2.01 versions, but not the ideal solution by a long run.

    Until that bug gets fixed, you gotta peek your head out of the vent and see the building to have BB do damage.

    I have problems with Bilebomb even if I have a direct line of sight, as long as there is a hight difference bewteen me and the target. For example, bile bombing up stairs is largely ineffective, and when I peek my head out of a vent to throw bilebombs directly at a target it is still safe just because I am so far above it.

    I think maybe it is requiring a line of sight from a different part of the Gorge model than the camera is based at? Thus allowing it to be blocked by uneven terrain without us noticing?

    Yep I've found the same problem. Height seems to throw BB as well: for example bile bombing the cargo res points on origin from the upper level; despite LOS it wasn't doing damage.

    Yes I was also having los. Its still broken but thats a horrible way to have it anyway. Grenades go thru walls, kill aliens, AND Structures. It kinda unbalances it where I play because I used to be an avid bilebomber. Locations marines would NEVER be allowed to hold when we have to hives ie. Nano, Reactor, Comp Core, etc. They get to hold it because it doesn't get taken down by my constant biling from the vent.

    Ugh. Imho, the bilebomb should damage regardless of line of site, but not through walls and such. If there's a vent that is susceptible to borderline exploitive bilebombing, put a welding spot next to it and let the marines shut it.

    Sweet!

    As for the current 2.01 bilebomb having problems with different heights, just remember the way the old 1.0x hivesight would sometimes show parasited marines on the other sides of railings n' stuff? Even though you could see them perfectly?

    The way NS detects what you can and can't see isn't perfect, and so even if you can see the top part of the model, chances are you can't see enough of it for the LOS code to detect you looking at it properly. Same thing for looking down at stuff, most of your body is obscured by the ledge, and so the LOS code (I think) detects that the structure is visually blocked by ledge you are standing on. I'm thinking it's something along the lines of straight lines from the centre of one hitbox to another, and so unless your hitbox centres can form an unblocked line chances are you wont be able to cause damage with BB in 2.01...

    But yeah, 2.1 seems to be just around the corner anyway, so just sit tight and soon happiness shall return to the battle gorge! (And woe betide the dissapointed onos muahahahahaha)

    Damn. Nice.

    Untill then is there a plugin or something that fixes this? This is one of my only beefs with the current version.
