P.S. for those of you who go apeshit on drug users- there's always a reason why they started (in my experience, "good" reasons- notice the quotes), you just have to talk to them and understand where they are coming from. Unless you personally know someone who is taking substances, have done research about the substances they're taking (including UNBIASED goverment inquerys- Nixon era has good unbiased ones on marijuana and opiates), then you have no room to talk about what that person is doing with their life. It's not a problem born of society (thou our policies are getting in the way of progress more than the trade itself), it's a problem of individuals.

Uh huh.
Then we come back down to reality where drug abuse is glamourized in every form of media. In movies, on TV, on the news, in our schools, in magazines, everywhere. In movies today the negative side of drugs are very, very rarely shown. A lot of the times they're even shown in a positive light. We all have problems, we all go through hard times, and I have never encountered a time when using drugs is at all in any way, shape, or form a logical way to help with anything. I know many drug abusers, though I don't research the drugs they abuse, as they play no significant role in my life. Though I can assure you I've only seen negative effects from even the "lightest" of drugs. Sure I guess I could try and talk to some of the drug abusers I know, but considering they're so burned out that it's like talking to an infant, I think I'll pass. I realize that a lot of people use drugs as an escape from this oh-so-hard life(poor babys ), but I doubt most teen drug abusers are doctors, so I wonder how they know what drugs work best?
While I agree with you on the overglamourization of drugs now these days (kiddie friendly pills)...

On the subject of drug use hes completely correct. After watching my sister go through a VERY hard time during her school years because of my mother I can relate to much of what he says. She was also "turned" onto drugs when she was prescribed many narcotic pain killers throughout the years to help with her endometriosis. A disease which causes severe pelvic pain at times. If you are on narcotics/opiets for long enough anyone and everyone will become addicted. On top of that she found alchohol and other recreational drugs as a way to escape from her home and school life.
The point of that was, If you don't know the whole story don't pass judgement. Also on the otherside of drug use, recreational use, I say let people screw themselves up its the principle of denying people of something you shouldn't have control over. /end rant
Well, these hate lists are nice and all.. but any of you who hasn't been here since May is really missing out on a classic. Mart's Hate List.

My mom has been a pill addict since I was little, I've seen the many, many negative effects of it. Don't act like your problems are some how more important that they some how justify drug abuse. I've been through a whole boat load of crap that I won't mention because I'm not a sympathy hound, and I've never once touched a drug. Oh well, if you guys want to pretend there is a way to justify drug abuse be my guest, you're only lying to yourselves.
