Server companies doing what they will.
Hello All,
We are having a HORRIBLE time with our server company when it comes to customer service. The sad thing is, there is nothing we can do about it. I was thinking about having a site that gives us a voice, something like the Better Business Bureau but for Server Companies.
A place where our complaints could be heard, and posted for other gamers to see. When a complaint is lodged, an email will be sent to that company informing them of the complaint and where to see it, and reply to resolve the issue.
I am just so fed up with being stomped on by these companies. Some are great yes, some are not.
Would any of you operators link to such a site if we created one?
Thanks for your ears.

why?
simple: 16 year kiddys who sell there own game servers will make some bad fake reports to other companys and price there own. If u have a bad xp about a company, ur stupid ur self Since u better do some research before rent somewhere..
examples:
- try there servers
- send some emails and check the response time
- ask some very hard questions (check if they know the anwser)
- ask for a test server for a day or few days
etc
and dont rent @ guys with only 1 server, most of the time they dunno what support is or dunno how things works
but i'm not sure if this is something that other server ops would wanna deal with. going to another clans forum server to check info and such....

Here's the funny thing, we used the same people previously, no problems. But now that they are growing, the service is falling.

Absolutely!

This would be a stand alone website with it's own domain. Dunno Fellas, just tossing the idea around. Like I said, I just think we need a Lobby of server ops or some kind of way to be united in voice. Never hurts to think! Any other ideas are very much welcome!

I know the guy who runs it IRL and is very intelligent. I have a server with him as well and its been running fine.

Thank you for the tip, I will check into them.
Something that might help people (and us server operators ) might be to put together a guide to renting a server. List what features a server operator should provide, and rate providers against the service levels in the guide. No company that wants to remain in business can afford to ignore objective comparisons against its competitors I think that'd be a positive way to help everyone out.
Stu
Our current company show's spurts of caring, then it all goes to pot as usual. I feel I should warn others about this company....and YES we will be changing after our monthly contract runs out.
The company is BobServers.com
The Pings are great, but there is NO customer service to speak of. The prices are cheap, 65 for a 15 man server, but I guess you get what you pay for.
Can you guys direct me to another company? I have been looking into going back to recongamer, but are a little pricey (only 2 peeps footing the bill) Around 70-80 bucks for a 14-15 man is the price point we need at the moment.
The company that "advertises" on these forums we have used previously, pings are not good when the server fills up... besides after you pay for the "extras" that most companies offer as included, you are back up to same pricing as recon but poor pings still.
Thanks for the vine to whine.
A very frustrated Customer.
