    Some time ago when STEAM was released I experienced this error and found that servers with large MOTD's caused it. Try various servers to see if this error is constant.

    No.... The servers with very large MOTDs have it... but the ones with small ones have it also <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Just less frequently.

    I got this error after a lag spike on one of the steam 2.1 beta servers. Only the once though.

    i think i am experiencing the same problem, about every few minutes my screen will freeze for about 5 seconds... and sometimes my game recovers, i regain control of my character, and i get the message 'Warning: CL_FlushEntityPacket' in the top right of my screen, but other times i get kicked out of the server, and my console says '<my name> Overflowed'. my CL_FlushEntityPackets occur with every mod, but i only overflow with NS (i think that is because of the massive ammount of entities there are in NS).

    So i am not sure if this is the same thing as reliable channel overflowed or not, but i am afraid to start a new topic. this forum scares me.

    Im planning to reinstall HL sooner or later.

    Oh and by the way.. do you guys use steam to play ns? because i dont.

    CL_FlushEntityPackets is somthing else. When your packet flushes your entitys freeze up and this is usialy caused by lag. <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Some of us do use Steam.
    Soon you will have no choice. NS 2.1 will be Steam only. (I wish I had the money to join Constelation, not only to play the test, but because I honestly think the game is worthy of a donation.)
    I would guess they thought you were using Steam, as it was a known Steam issue a while ago, though I think it was fixed.

    gl_zmax "4096"

    take that out of your config.

    its because of the ex_maxerrordistance spam. i had the same problem with it.

    just create an autoexec.cfg file (copy config.cfg, then delete its contents and rename), and then put

    <alias ex_maxerrordistance " ">

    in it. (w/o the brackets)

    that should fix it. search for ways to configure steam. there are a million solution to a million problems.
