<div class="IPBDescription">as if 32-bit encryption wasn't enough...</div> Visit www.thematrix.com, go with the high-bandwidth version to get the top flash navigation frame, follow the instructions in the "breaking news" section to get to Binary and then 32-bit access.
Open another window, go do the same to get to "breaking news" and this time hover the mouse over some of the boxes in the "revolutions" part of the flash navigation bar. Use the hex address.
<b>Bam.</b> I have no idea where to go from here. Help? <span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>*whimpers "mommy!"*</span>

I'll figure it out if it kills me.
*edit* BWAHAHAHAHA! Try putting in the example string <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

The light lights up and with other combinations it doesn't bring up the "loading" text. So i think i got it right. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
*EDIT: Now it works, but this time i'm using IE. Same combination as before. Anyone else using Firebird having problems?

They purposely made it so you have to use basic browsers. Today I started using Opera in hopes of using its zoom 800% ability to see hidden clues; zooming in that close was how people found one of the first ever valid hex codes, written 3 or 4 pixels tall on a border of the interface. (The clue was erased a couple days after it became public info on a forum but the hex may still work.) Doesn't work in Opera, and apparently doesn't work in Firebird either. Figures.
I tried viewing the source code of the page, which worked way back in the day for getting the Reloaded trailer ~1 hour before the synchronized release online and as a Super Bowl commercial. They've gotten smarter since then. A dummy values in the source didn't work, and no method to add it to the favorites has worked for more than a few minutes. My guess is they don't want straight-up URLs passed around once someone cracks it, so a custom address for the page is made every time you enter the 32-bit hex for it.

Note the similarities and differences of lines mentioning with "key=" and "<OBJECT classid=" ; anyone know more HTML who can help tell whether my theory is right, or are these clues right under my nose?

The first quote is a reference to one of the two games they've featured on the site before. One was a side-scroller where you played as Trinity, had 3 levels and wasn't half bad. The other was only played by the first <some #> users to actually understand the clues and access it. After that, trying to get to the page just said something along the lines of "thanks to all who beta tested." It may have been the game now included with the Revolutions Soundtrack.
As for the second quote, when I read that, I assumed they were making 64-bit encryption. 128 bit flat out scared me. Still does <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Looking at the quote now, i <i>think</i> i know what it means.
"Path" The website.
"ViaRevolutions" The revolutions menu at the top.
"ThirdSlot" The third button in the revolutions menu
"top" Meaning the top row on the menu.
"EmbeddedDVD" The video it plays when you hold your mouse over the third button at the top
"0x(31)+0-F" ?
"ZionArchives" Probably referring to the zion interface shizzle we're doing.
Who knows, just my speculation.

Yea, but when holding it over, you get the hexcode for the top thingy and when entered you get to the page i showed a screen off.... now im stuck at "EmbeddedDVD/0x(31)+0-F/ZionArchives" i have no idea what they mean... :/

I don't know flash, but I know enough Java and C++ to take my guesses at the code. I'm most interested in these parts:
<!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->
var combination = this.current_combination.bank_a_display + this.current_combination.bank_b_display + this.current_combination.bank_c_display + this.current_combination.bank_d_display;
if (this.securityManager.e8418d1d706cd73548f9f16f1d55ad6e(combination))
{
this.combination_correct = true;
signal.gotoAndStop("on");
}<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
It takes all 4 "banks" and sticks them together end to end, making a variable called "combination". It is then sent to this thing's "securityManager.####" function. We don't have the source for that function here, but it seems to check a list of valid codes and return "true" if valid and "false" otherwise. If "true," "combination_correct" gets set to "true," and "signal" (my guess: the green indicator next to the enter button) gets set to "on."
So all this means that if we just find the code of securityManager, we're set. Thing is, I don't know why securityManager is followed by that garbled mess of characters, and I'm especially confused by the fact that it's followed by a <i>different</i> mess of garbled characters in this part of the code:
<!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1--> if (this.combination_correct)
{
var combination = this.current_combination.bank_a_display + this.current_combination.bank_b_display + this.current_combination.bank_c_display + this.current_combination.bank_d_display;
getURL("javascript:popup(\'" + this.securityManager.c7ff3e2691955bf4ae7405c0b(combination) + "\')", "");
}<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
[edit]Looking at it again, we do see where securityManager gets created. First couple lines, <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->this.securityManager = new fae32629d4ef4fc6341f1751b405e45("../hex_lock/gateway.php", this, "hex_lock_128");<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
[edit]nm, they don't fit[/edit]
the puzzle before this followed the same pattern. it had a string of hex code that was the right length, but wasnt the right code. im still tryin to figure it out now though.
edit: im tired haha
But then again, you never know.
I'll work on this.
Edit: There's a Hex code on the august 19th news post.

I tried the 31 digit with every value as the last figure, no luck.
thus the embeddeddvd
31 to the power of F is an 8 digit hexadecimal number.
So I was using
01101111 (very first code)
0AC01BFA (the code that opened it)
50A9SE01 (31 to the power of F)
and the fourth is blank for me.
Meh. Perhaps the answer IS on the reloaded disc.
After doing some newby-non-looking into the whole thing, I found that. I'm wondering where this may lead(following the include_path, addition to www.thematrix.com- it may just be it)
-edit- Nevermind, lead to the same spot.
Anyone buy the new DVD?
