<div class="IPBDescription">Huh heh huh huh... he said... squeeze.</div>I was talking about this in the PT forums, and thought I better share the love a bit:
If you would like to learn some ways to improve your Half-Life gaming performance, there is an excellent article over at Tweak3D giving several pages of options and tweaks you can try which will tend to give you more bang for your buck (whether it be more FPS, a faster network connection, or just stopping annoyances).
<a href="http://www.tweak3d.net/tweak/halflife/" target="_blank">Tweak3D Half-Life Tuning Guide</a>
And yes, I know many of you have seen this before and used it. No need to all snotty and try to tell us about your l337ness.

Bigfoots suck.
Anyway, thanks for the linkage, I have a 1337 rig myself, but I did up my texture filtering, and It no longer looks fugly at long distances...
Ill find the links for you guys when i get home
helll yea man, voodoo3 600 athlon, 128 EDO!! BAH!!

i know, it goes without saying, but ..
b0b2 15 t3h 1337
I tried the tweaks... too darned bad they dont really help me much cause of my HL hating ATI Radeon card <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->
cable pings 1-10 ( cable in vienna have backchannel so we got pings from 1-10 )
lol thats sad man, you should be getting more. Learn some tweaks. I have a p2 350, and a diamond stealth 3 pci 32mb. Im also on AOL. I can pull 40 fps while running around in lan mode and in an actuall game Ill get 30 in spawn, drops down to about 15 before a battle, and 10 in battle.
1X AGP
my new system is going to be
CPU : Athlon XP +1800
Mobo : KT3-Ultra2
Mem : 256 DDR PC-333
graphix card : Geforce 4 Ti 4400
i can't wait to see my new fps <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
P4 1,3 Ghz (I know don´t yap about it)
256mb RAM
GeForce 4 Ti 4200 (And I use 4x antialiasing BTW)
ADSL 512/512kbps connection
I only get 70 fps. I know I could get more... but how? <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->
fps_max 100
Not that you can really tell much of a difference usually...
P3 501Mhz (Yes there is a 1)
128mb RAM
GeForce 2 (or if I didn't map I could reinstall my PowerVR Kyro II, I always got 100 fps no matter what, somehow, but it hates worldcraft and it wont run :\<!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
at 800x600 32-bit w/ anistropic filtering....oh i'd say about 50-70fps.
My Kyro II got me 80-100fps on the same rig. Ah well.
Oh and the shittiest cable service on the planet. I had 15 fps ONCE, the rest will never go below 70.
Ok, my comeback for all this is, I dunno, 6-8 months too late or something, but:
I'm at the highest (or one of the higher) resolutions with all the graphics turned up, and custom models when possibly. The high poly ones.
