how many people can is hold?
I have my 2.0 gig with 512 ram gf4 4600 running on a cable connection. Now I know this isn't the greatest idea but I don't feel like paying for a server or better connection. I've held up to 10 people so far. I'm wondering if it's possible to fit more....

Well does anyone know what the standard bandwidth is for a road runner cable connection??

Go to Speakeasy.net and run a speedtest to find out. My cable is 1.5m and it's upload is 260kbps... I can handle 10 players and that's about it.
Btw, that was [FFT]International House of Nubcakes NSv2.01b [C-D REQ], great server, great mods. Everyone in my clan loved the server, and pings were great, all off of a cable connection.
Anyway, I use Optimum Online, which, while the company sucks, has a fast speeds, plus I'm the only person on the damn node, and I'm right near the (starting?) point of it, so even with a bunch of morons on my street having the seem service, I'd still have the fastest connection. GG unsaturated cable network.
Did a speakeasy.net speed test, 6023kbps down, 916kbps up...that explains the bitching speeds.
Rig is a 2.4ghz P4, 1024mb ram.
Hopefully all of that information can help you get some of the facts about cable server.

about how many people could i run?
I've held 6 players (couldn't get anyone else to join) in CS on a dsl connection (768/128 (about 80kbps down, 20kbps up)) with sub 100 pings
