Computer & Video Games reports that Eidos will release PC and Xbox demos of Deus Ex: Invisible War in December:


Although Eidos has confirmed with us that an Xbox and PC demo of Deus Ex: IW will be out in December, an exact date has yet to be confirmed. The seventh or eight of the month was suggested, but it appears that nothing is yet written in stone. Demo content is being kept a closely guarded secret as well.

    Well they started selling pre-orders at Best Buy, so I guess that means it'll be released soon. The Fall of Max Payne was for sale roughly a month before it was released as well.

    (BTW: The cover of Invisible War looks really really goofy)

    I saw the pre-order at best buy today and I thought it was the actual game already. I almost shat myself, until one of those annoying best buy employees came over and asked me 100000000 times if I needed help.....Stupid Bestbuy.

    Hmm, I saw the trailer and it raises the 12th of December as a potential North American release date... that's good. If they play their cards right, the demo should be around a week or so beforehand... I hope.

    Hate it when seperate dates appear... always means that the UK/Europe market's going to be a little way behind USA releases, and damned if I'm going to take it sitting down... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    You can pick up the original for like 5 bucks on Ebay without the box. Or 10 bucks in the bargain bin. The graphics still look pretty damn good even today, even with a moderatly good video card you can crank it up to max settings. No multiplayer for DX 1 or 2 though <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Actually there is multiplayer for DX1. You just need to download the multiplayer patch and you're away. It's not bad either.

    really? Oh well, DXes main drawing point for me was it's incredible Single player mode... it almost makes me regret trading DX for Morrowind (but that game is so sweet, i couldnt turn the offer down).

    For the first few times, i kinda made the same character, then i went to someone's house, and they had their character set up as a melee guy... it was sweet, the swords are really really powerful l8er in the game. Then i started playing the game again... and then sold it for morrowind. One month huh?

    *looks in wallet and realises it is either HL2 or DX2*

    I can't wait for the demo. I'm iffy as to if my PC will run the game. My Ti4400 can run... some.... other.... DX9 FPS game fairly well, but I always like to be sure.

    Other than that, I'll have to buy it the first time I see it on the shelf.

    I don't care if I only get 5 fps, there is no way I'm missing out on DX2. I loved the original; I played it through more than 10 times and I could do it again, the replayability is immense. Just try completing the game without using a firearm. Or without killing anyone (besides the few you have to kill).

    Anybody that hasn't played the original, shame on you, run and buy yourself a copy right now!

    Im playing it right now (well, not RIGHT now, but about 5 mins ago)

    It runs pretty darn well on a 700mhz, 128MB RAM, GeForce 4, 4 yr old computer!
