<div class="IPBDescription">Perfect for Battle Gorges in Combat</div> Basically i believe that babblers would make it worth while ebing a gorge (kill wise) if they had some way of attacking the high level marines as heal spray really means nothing to them.     well whatever happens webs are pretty much useless now and hardly ever used as a hive 3 attack :| replace webs with babblers RAH!

    Replacing webs with ANYTHING is a bad idea.

    Webs are vital for res-starved aliens standing a chance against HA or JP. Removing webs is like making the hive in marine spawn and tell the aliens to come back in 20 minutes.

    As for babblers, they were stupid, way underpowered and absolutely useless without webs.

    well if webs were taken away it wouldnt have effected hardly any of the 2.x games ive ever played cos they were never used

    Don't forget the lag issues, guys! In 1.04, there were rarely more than 3 Gorges. In Combat, it's possible to have the entire team as Gorges, spawning multiple Babblers, crashing the server....yech.

    Meh, I don't find web to be that useful of a hive 3 skill. If I have web, then they don't have JP/HA, if they have JP/HA I sure dont have web.

    Babblers:
    -Had crappy AI
    -Kill server resoruces.
    -Are a diversion at best.

    Think how powerful the avg marine is by the time a Gorge would have babblers. They'd be ripped apart. It'd be a waste. Gorges are just fine in NS:C.

    Web OWNED as a hive 2 skill. And it made perfect sense right where it was, I am baffled as to why the hell they even moved it in the first place.

    Babblers, as fun as they were to use, were buggy as hell. Not to mention how stupid their AI was, you could barely fire them down a hallway correctly, much less around a corner or behind cover. They were comical more than they were useful IMO.

    While babblers might not be the best choice to bring back (I think that just using the Snark AI code would be a good choice, but that has been discussed to death elsewhere) I think that webs are, at their current position, the next best thing to worthless. Its a defensive weapon that only comes into play when the aliens reach the point in the game when they should be on the offense. Unless you can shoot webs at marines directly to catch them, instead of having to set up the two shot web line, or webs get bumpbed back to hive 2, they've been the waste of a weapon slot in my experience (along, I contend, with acid rocket. These weapons come far too late in the game for their potential to be realized).

    Web owns in NS:C. Seriously. When you get marines cursing to high heaven, after being webbed for 30s ('cuz the <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> can't actually KILL anything himself <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> , the poor guy's gotta wait for backup), you know something is working.

    And at the same time as being able to completely immobilize rines, you can heal Mr. Hive. A win - win situation.

    They sure did. But you wouldn't want bile bomb as hive 3, nor remove spit + put either bb/web as hive1

    Gorges are far from defensless in the right hands...it just requires more tactics...

    Babblers were fun. I loved them. I hated when they were taken away. However, I hate lag even more. granted, in combat, babblers would probably work and not cause too much lag since nothing can be built. However, they will still not be very effective against JP marines. hence, you still need you webs. Webs should be strong enough to not let a JPer just fly through them though.

    Babblers are simply dumb AI. Sure, you could lose bile bomb, shift web to slot 3 and babblers to 4. But, that would then make gorges less effective at attacking the marine CC.

    Babblers would not be good to bring back in regular NS due to that lag. It would be too much in addition to an already laggy situation.

    Webs are freakin awsome in the hands of a good offensive webber.

    In fact way too good. I believe that webs moved to hive3 so the marines can have a web free game by taking 1 hive.

    We don't need webs for the same reason we needed them in 1.x, because JPs got nerfed so hard.

    The problem is you take so much away from the aliens, and not the marines. I do not feel one bit sorry for the marines, because in the hands of good teamwork and coordination, they become way overpowered.

    Do aliens get cannons that shoot through walls? Or permenant wallhack-ish Motion tracking for the entire map? Grenade launchers that fire around corners? Shotguns that do ungodly amounts of damage against ANYTHING? Resource towers with deadly electric fields? No I do not feel the least bit concerned about the aliens getting an uber weapon, because the marines already have an ARSENAL of them.

    Gorge needs web. Bile bomb is great I know, but you gotta work web in there somehow for hive 2. It loses so much of it's use at hive 3, it's just depressing. Why limit the aliens to 1 attack per hive anyways? Maybe let the aliens choose between different types with each species, giving them different attacks. It seems so easy to give marines new stuff, yet the aliens seem so limited as to what they can have...

    JPs are back man.

    The new JP in the current beta test build "feel" like the old 1.04 JPs...so yeah, the webs are important once again.
