i have had 1 person on so far and that was whan i was running a server on hlds
i have loads of cool mods and i need some1 who can test my server for me/admin
i know that the master server updates every 40 mins or so but i never really see my server on the list often
i went to www.whatismyip.com and it says my ip is 62.252.64.8
i want to know, is there anything else i need to do to my server to get it on the net?
(not shure if this has anything 2 do with it but when i type "ip" in console it says localhost is that what it should be for an internet game?)

    I'd guess your not using the steam server?

    tell us more, its difficult to help you there...

    are you behind a router or firewall?
    thats often a problem, you have to configre them right to let the masterlist work

    I was guessing he wasnt using steam because it didn't show up in the steam server list... I added it to favorites list and nothing. Perhaps it is down atm or like you said the firewall is fubaring it. If you have a Linksys router, go <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=18&t=46064&hl=linksys' target='_blank'>here</a> and use the config i gave with the 1.43 or whatever version of firmware if you don't have that version already.

    Oh and about your ip, I'm pretty sure that just means you are behind a firewall.

    i am not running through steam and i have fixed my server
    i think the problem was in my listenserver.cfg
    i changed sv_lan to 0
    if u want to join, its on most of the time , not on steam but on norm HL it is called Dark's Custom NS 2.01

    server query returns

    New Server (Half-Life): 62.252.64.8 [0/0 players]

    It also reports "UNREACHABLE"

    cmd "ping" reports

    TIME OUT

    is this the right ip?

    no, i use serverquery (Australian/NewZeland only type all seeing eye), and cmd (dos propmt) has a command named ping, and u enter an ip, or dns, and it pings it with 4kb of data

    Can you give us a port?

    I was going trhough a router before and I had to forward my ports for ppl to log on...With my DLink router I forwarded and it went to like 57321. So try to get someone outside of your network to get it for you.
