lets see them!!
well!! what are some weird spots you've seen marines locate? there's the classic S corridor in bast (i think its s corridor - the one w the red lights thats under the cockpit)
i just played a game where the marines moved to the area behind the glass in equilibrium hive in lost - the one w the weldable elevator. some guy got in there with a jp, and they never fixed the elevator, so our 3 onos couldn't get up. it took FOREVER to get them out!! it took i dont know how many exploding skulks to finish them off. but we DID get a lot of xeno kills cause they were packed tightly
so... weird relocation spots... go for it!!!

also, directly underneath Mother Hive in nancy (when the hive was built, too)
Right... nancy not being an actuall map in 2.1
(we were all kinda n00bish, so we just thought the Commander was doing a smart thing)
The comm packed the area with turrets, so we were well defended against smaller foes, but at that time the aliens had pooped chambers all over the place, and we couldn't really do anything.
(the fact that the comm had somehow forgot to research any upgrade didn't help much)
The Fades softened us with acid rockets (they could do them with one hive, even if 2 were necessary for the Fade itself, if i remember correctly).
But we actually held against them, and eventually they just......faded away.
Then, about 15 minutes of silence followed.
I told myself "w007 we messed em up bad! Theyr still lickin them wounds!"
Next thing i know is that im running from what seems like nine Onos.
The base was reduced to debris in less than thirty seconds and, after a dramatic chase, i met a gruesome death in the marine start: dismembered in darkness!!

I did this once, but we cheated and PGed into that weldable res, now normaly they whould just acid rocket the node. But since we where right next to EQ hive they chould't get 3rd hive so even tho they owned the whole map we always had 1-3 res(Weld,EQ,Coolent). I had a wall of CCs infront of the lift, it was't fixed but they got smart and tryed getting skulks to boost ono's up. But the CCs with Elt Tfs on the other side put an end to that. We mined the vent and had a JP/Shotguner gaurding it. With like 3-4 gernaders holding the lift. 7 hours later(i kid you not!) Me and my band of harcore marines(not one marine left the game, we went throw like 7 alien teams, people comeing and going) Waited them aliens out, we had a 2 player bouns and swarmed there hives with JP/SG. After the game all you saw from the marines was "VGG i'm going to sleep"
I've been unsuccessful at relocating in the middle of 5 res on Lost. Alpha , Los , Requiem , Overlook , Temp ctrl , all easy to reach (or so I thought) with the CC between the large corridors and the maze. Let's say this relocation is a death trap , it never works , in pub games or pickups or clan matches. The marines can't hold the base and take ressources at the same time , the base is so exposed... even with elec and turrets there's still lerks and gorges to annoy you. In fact , you can't hold Overlook and Temp Ctrl though they are right next to your base.
Relocations to Temp Ctrl do work in pub games , but in clan matches you're guaranteed to see your base smacked by a few onos.
An other difficult relocation : in Eclipse , on the corner of the large corridor under Horseshoes. Relatively safe , it lets you build turrets to protect nearby nodes such as Southloop and Junction. Does work in pub games , quite risky in clan matches.
To thoses who think they've invented the weirdest relocation on Bast : there's a spot large enough to build a whole base , inside the vent right under the marine start (between Engine and the MS ducts) , only problem is that you don't have any res directly (crouch walking takes time) so you have to move out and build phase gates very quickly... I've tried it on Roob's NTFM , was pretty hilarious , the base is 100% onos proof but lerks and fades are still a threat. Oh , and no turret farm here , mines protect the base effectively.
You can quickly cross the N corridor to reach Atmos but you have to crater though. Not really conventional enough to succeed in pub games , and not viable enough (compared to Main Aft !) to succeed in clan matches.

P.S... how DID you do it? im too lazy to pm you. im guessing building for a bit and surfacing for air (empty server of course)... or maybe cheats? godmode?
i once relocated into the vent in cargo, the red one with a huge long vent, i placed a comm chair at the other end blocking the vent and had a guy there constantly welding. and had marines stacked up really high with shotties the game didnt end....at all, but after about 1 hour i just sold the base then f4'd and the game was over.

Brilliant work FriendlyGhost, I like that building-jump bug too, sounds cool. The weirdest relocation I have ever seen was some JPing Marines rebuilding their structures on the Cliffs in that one asteroid map. They didn't build on the actual cliffs, but on the section to the player's right (upon going out the door) where the ground jutts out from the building and a large glass tube/hallway encircles it. They build on the furthest edge of the cliff so that the tubing protected their buildings from our acid spam, for the most part, it was hard to get a good hit anyway. So we had to send in the air brigade. It was a lot of fun, though we were kicking ourselves in the heads collectively when we realized the comm chair they had rebuilt was on the other end of the map, hidden near one of our own hives...
you soooo know thats my only strategy in lost
Relocation to bottom of Drill Shaft in bast.
Remember ns_nancy? Remember that hallway with a 1/8th open door in the floor? (No, not the hive one) I actually relocated in there after losing base, and came out with HA 30 minutes later because the Kharaa couldn't find me.
Relocation to the cliffs on hera BEFORE 2.0, meaning there was no real way to get outside.
Relocation to the inside of the furnace near Feedwater in ns_bast. (Ok, this one's not that unique)
Relocation to the inside of the furnace inside Refinery hive in bast (NOW it's unique )
Relocation by MARINES to the underwater tunnel in bast (It wasn't pretty, drowning the instant you spawn)
Kharaa "relocation" in hiding in the water tunnel in bast (Had to list that, it's so darn funny even though it's not original, and if you build the in EXACT right place, you can't get sieged)
Relocation inside the pillars near the entrance to Data Core hive in hera.
w00t! Pwned!
2) Station Access Alpha in ns_eclipse
3) On TOP of the alien hive in Cargo Bay Foyer, ns_nothing.
4) On top of the pipes in Lower Sewer, 1.04 ns_caged
