My clan has our server through them, Those who hunt Skulks, and they are an excellent company. One night we deciede to see how far we could push the server, and even with over 50 structures in the marine start of ns_eclipse alone and sv_cheats set to 1, building anything and everything, we could not even get the server to flinch. They are great servers and very cheap. I give them 5 starts. If you want to check out our server, here is the info

Server Name: Skulk Hunting Grounds NS 2.01
    Server IP : 69.56.221.66:27015
    Players : 16
    Cheating Death optional

Actually the box Skulks is on doesnt flinch at all <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Yes there is a another game on it.

The box doesnt go over 10% cpu

I stop adding games when during high playing times the server starts to average 70% cpu usage.

if you want i can post some taskmanager screen shots of it.

Yes the stats are complied on the same box.

How does your server handle steam?

And what are the maximum number of players that you limit your boxes to?

I dont go by the amount of players.

I just go by average peak cpu.

For example when the server is full i look at the cpu usage. I will stop adding games on it when it hits 70% when full. Hope that answers your question. It is really hard to say because i support a number of different games. For example a 64 player bf1942 game on a amd 2600 will use all the cpu. While counter strike /shutters i can put a whole lot more people on it.

I have not setup a steam box yet. I know i am going to pretty soon.

I can set one up and see what happens. ( my customers are not running steam just yet )

Ok i got a Steam server up.

    It is at 69.56.221.67 running NS v2.01 of course <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

I watched it start up and i dont see anything different on startup. ( vs. 4.1.1.0 )

But that might change when people get in.

So a 16 player server would cost 64.00 a month then?

A 16 player would be 56 per month. ( I need to update the pricing page )

    And the box is win32.

You do get tools to remotely stop and start the game, upload file, and edit files from a webbrowser.

    As seen here.
