1. Without them you couldn't see what was holding the steps up.
2. It's a bit gloomy so they light up where you are supposed to step.
I'll have to have a think about the ceiling and lighting rhoads...
I like how some areas seem quite compact and busy (the first 2 screen shots) while other areas are much more open and barren ... good spatial contrast. If you could spice up the lighting a bit more and retain that contrast then atomicmass = win.
How complete is the map now??
I like the display panel thingies in the 2nd shot. Very nice... is that map the actual map of the facility? It'd be cool if you converted the actual layout into that glass display. (If you haven't already of course)
Windelkron : The map shown is a simplified layout of the map with resource nodes marked with an X, these will light up when the resource node is in-use (I hope).
