<div class="IPBDescription">differences in behaviors</div> Hi, I got my Steam installed about 1-2 months ago to get used to it when NS 3.0 will come out and to help spot bugs. Since then, I try to play the Steam way as much as I can. I have been playing NS for at least a year now.
I've noticed that in Steam the player behavior is different then in the WON servers. They act more un-civilized, more radio spammed oriented, complain more, more childished, ... They aren't all that way but I see it more often on Steamed servers then WON ones. Also, teamplay is less present in Steam then WON.
So is it just me or does it look like Steam has more Newbies, un-experienced, rambos, spamers simply because most of the experienced and well behaved players are still hanging out on WON servers ?
This soft of gives a bad idea to new comers when they see what the majority of Steam players look like (ok, I may be exagerating a bit by the majority but bad players are more easily remembered/spoted then good ones).
So what do you think ?
Do you see it too ?
What do you suggest ?
P.S. : I removed a few sentences so this post so it doesn't turn out into a "I hate Steam" kind of discussion and would also like that this doesn't become the case.

I figure you get more CS kids from steam so of course you're going to see a lot of whining and rambo-ing.
Deal with it until the move to steam is a forced one, then find yourself a server with mature players.
valve will close the won net in next time...
i hate valve for steam, shutting in next time the won-net and i hate valve for the great HL2 release this jear!!

And yeah, Steamers seem to be a lot more chatty.. that can be fun though =)
When 3.0 arrives I bet those 'childs' will adapt to the normal style.
Or are you guys just playing NS on steam by clicking and dragging your folder into your steam directory? I tried that, but it screwed too many things up (including cutting me out of chat and voice comms!) to play the game.
so blame it on CS and all servers search

Yes, damn all those new players that want to try out another mod! <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
you were probly in with a bunch of people that just downloaded it, and played it like it was cs, and just a bad server <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

But anyway. I havn't noticed much bad behavier on steam any more than was on won. BUT
I have seen alot of cheating...
And I dont accuse of cheating easily either. One guy who I wont mention here was somehow running at like 99999999mph as a onos. Its just wrong! Then he tried to blame it on lag. I see this kind of thing alot now...
Its really a shame, btw does anyone know how to report him..?
I want to see him banned forever!!!! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

well, we won't miss you when you and won are gone, don't install steam, go play d&d
Either that or it's just coincidence that better servers tend to be on steam, I dont know...I played on steam for about 2 months after it's release, then went back to WON...now I cant get steam back...So I've been on both sides...
just my opinion
edit: by the way...stop making this a steam hate/won hate thread...the creator specifically edited things to try to keep that from happening...
I don't see much difference between steam/won servers except people dropping at map change/round ends.
Maybe with steam people we feel like a smaller community and get to know people quicker.
