We're working on v3.0b, and it should be out this weekend. There are quite a few great new changes, including one big new feature that people have been asking for forever.

There will be the usual bug fixes and balance changes as well, and probably a new map in addition. So, set some time aside this weekend to play!

As usual, the patch will be released via this mailing list. Stay tuned...

Running the latest Mozilla Firebird, it moves the window. Firebird is about the most DOM/XHTML/CSS/etc compliant PC browser out there, so I imagine the window-moving is a legal thing. Annoying still, though. CTRL-F4 closes the tab quite handily though.

<a href='http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/' target='_blank'>Firebird</a> is the best browser I have seen. It makes IE6/Win look like a piece of garbage, and Mozilla 1.x look more bloated than a gorge's mom on Thanksgiving. I do cross-platform browser tests for all my sites as part of my job, so I've seen pretty much all of the browsers that more than 10 people use, and Firebird is great.

I don't know about the PR Blitz, we need to have someone to do it....

But as for the hovar cheat....you might want to consider settig it to on as default to get those server operators on their toes <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

And maybe reset to on when the server crashes and/or restarts lol

Then we get all these complaints about lerk, and most of them will contain 'They hovar without flapping!! WTH?!'

    We can only wish....

Hrm... my guess for the juicy thing is first person view flipping for wall climbing skulks... it's something people have been asking for, for quite a long time. That's my theory anyhow.

OT: Hrmm.... ever wonder if flayra renamed 2.1 to 3.0 because he was running out of letters.... nahhhhhhhhhh

Nope. It's been discussed in th I&S forums, and poularly deined by Forum mods, and people who have tried to use it. Basically, it makes it impossible to go up a few steps without getting sick.

see that in the changelog? that effectively allows you to align your camera to the walls. Even now, you can set cl_pitchup and down to an extremely large number and have cameras can align to the wall. The only problem was, if you were upside down, the horizontal axis is inverted (read: left = right, right = left). This change allows you to skulk the way your grandpa always wanted to.

I don't think those fall under feature. A feature that comes to my mind, that has been asked for forever, is marines vs. marines. How about that? That would be big and a suprise.

It's possible that it's a real compilation, but there are too many artefacts for me to really trust.

As for browsers... <a href='http://www.opera.com' target='_blank'>Opera</a> is where it's at.
More features than Firebird, no bloat (lots of features, but no bloat. Bear with me here.) More stable and better behaved than IE...

Did I mention <a href='http://www.opera.com/features/mouse/index.dml' target='_blank'>mouse gestures</a>? I'm hooked. I know that some mozilla folks made a plugin to try to do the same thing...

Most importantly I can super-quickly enable/disable popups, java, javascript, plugins, cookies, etc. "You're an idiot" did nothing to me.

I think the biggest piece of evidence that it is a kickass program is that even though I took the cheapskate route and use it with banner ads---it's so damn good that I've never even considered trying to find a crack or a keygen.
