That's because Hayao Miyazaki is a sexy movie writing beast, and we should all have a greater appreciation for his collective works. Laputa especially.
I can't wait for his new one coming out in 2004, Howls Moving Castle. Teaser clip
Everyone needs a hobby or two. Some people collect dvd's and others like to throw rocks. The funny thing is that the guy who runs or throws rocks is just as satisfied and happy with his life as the guy who uses 500e/month on dvd's

Ok Inf, I have a game for you, I'll describe an Anime show (which I really love) and you have to guess the name.
A 16 year old girl falls down an old well and finds her self in Old Japan, where she meets a half demon half human, who she later falls in love with.
Its even currently on TV where I am! Maybe too easy.
Heres a harder one.
2 long time rivals return to a planet that they grew up on. They are both test pilots for experimental fighter jets that can transform. They are both thrown for a loop when the girl they were both in love with comes to the planet also.

1. Lens flares can never be used to often or too much 2. Strongbad was right about the blue hair (inside joke) 3. The Japanese REALLY like big robots [/understatement] 4. Robots the size of skyscrapers, despite being the size of skyscrapers are usually really fast and/or can fly 5. A female character must remove her clothing at least once in every episode (i never said this was a bad thing ) 6. Some anime's are absolute poop, yet I am strangely compelled to watch the next one anyway 8. Due to the above, I suspect anime contains subliminal messaging
but I still have yet to see a series the whole way through. Can anyone recommend a good series for teh anime nubz0r?
Why not Evangelion? That's the one i've actually seen the most of so far (and which I have another four unwatched episodes of).
Are you saying Evangelion is brain intensive? Granted I don't get why the Eva pilots have to be fourteen, but Brain intensive? At least it doesn't have tentacle rape....

Dude, you are still on the "Happy Big Robot Anime With Humor Part"
About the episode 14/16 mark the series takes a U-Turn (A really, really massive U-Turn) and turns into something much different. Which is very brain intensive. Actually, I've never seen Dragonball Z one singe time. I have a friend that has a lot of movies and all of them I've seen are the same. Try to think about it when you watch an anime next time. Tell me one scene in one movie where someone else is moving while someone is talking. Loops don't count.

First, all the movies and series I've seen are just really bad made. It's like still pictures with moving mouths. They repeat scenes all the time and there are loops everywhere!
Second, the plots, relations and characters etc are so B it's scary!

hmmmm feels good.
I have a friend that has a lot of movies and all of them I've seen are the same. Try to think about it when you watch an anime next time. Tell me one scene in one movie where someone else is moving while someone is talking. Loops don't count.
Hmm, interesting how my friend only gave me up to episode 14 then, /me wonders if this was intentional... (i've seen up to 10 so far)
So any others? Possibly more of the "big robots that blow stuff up genre" and nothing too... well... wierd. I know that may be hard in an anime My friend has told me about the likes of tentacle rape and I have no desire to experience it firsthand.... *shudders*
/me does Get Away From NS-forums For A While And Go Watch Kimi Ga Nozumo Eien No Jutsu.
Oh, almost forgot!
