Perhaps because it doesn't require massive tweaking to play many games acceptably?

    Win98 only or also Win98SE???
  • MedHeadMedHead Join Date: 2002-12-19 Member: 11115Members, Constellation
Uh, I'm sure they mean both.

Beware though: Win2K support should be ending within a year (from what I remember hearing).

*Hugs his Debian Linux + ROX-Desktop laptop*
*Looks at win98SE gaming rig, pats it on the monitor*

You can have my 98SE CD when you pry it from my cold, dead, arthritic fingers... or when WINE gets good enough that I won't need it to play D3D games (Thief series, for instance), whichever comes first.

If they also end supporting Win98SE, I will have to go to XP, which I hate. Oh no, what a disaster <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

XP is not that bad. Sheesh.
  • ObstObst Join Date: 2003-03-12 Member: 14436Members, Constellation
For YOU maybe. But for ME it is. Sheesh.
But perhaps I can stick with WIN98SE, cause it runs fine ATM and I don't need any upgrades by now..
